Im not sure i think anything massive will happen but you have to admit the science is behind the hype for a change

In part yes, but also the 'I Ching' and the fact that that galactic alignment has been confirmed to happen on this date - a once in 26,000 year occurence, add to that solar flares are increasing and we do know the poles are moving.

Got to admit it's an awfully big coincidence and we have Science saying that whilst they don't think it's the end of the world they do ackowledge these events will take place.

BTW the mayans didn't say it was the end of the world - just the end of an age.

got a link? i know poles move, and planets orbit and that solar flares occur. i wasn't aware these issues could be related or will happen at similar times.

its the 2012 Mayan Cosmic Shift, but everyone thinks the dates are fucked. pretty funny debate!

the pole shift thing is a prediction, we know they are moving at the moment and often do but the prediction is for a full flip for lack of a better way of putting it.

I can tell you working in insurance we have had 7 "once in 100 year" catastrophe's in the last 2 years and it's getting worse.

Boxing day tsunami, Katrina, Larry, the thing in burma now china - you have to admit it has never been this frequent that we have had such massive incidents.

The planet is warming but there is no 'indesputable' evidence to sugegst it is from carbon emmissions, we think it is and have theory's to suggest it is however there is just as much to say we don't know why it's happening.

Try this link..

yes, climate change will indeed bring with it more extreme weather patterns. but i dont think that has anything to do with 2012, the mayans or your slut of a mum.

thanks for the link.

The Mayan Calendar is above all a prophetic calendar that may help us understand the past and foresee the future. It is a calendar of the Ages that describes how the progression of Heavens and Underworlds condition the human consciousness and thus the frames for our thoughts and actions within a given Age. The Mayan Calendar provides an exact schedule for the Cosmic Plan and the unfolding of all things that come into existence. There is now ample empirical evidence for this, something that shines new light on the age old questions of mankind. Things do exist for a reason. The reason is that they fit into the divine cosmic plan. For those that seriously engage in a study of the Mayan Calendar this soon becomes evident and the former materialist world view loses all relevance. The Mayan Calendar is a gateway to the worlds of consciousness which the majority of humanity has been blinded to through the use of false or delusory calendars.

sorry, but that's about as far as i got. i dont have a great deal of tolerance for the taste of excrement.

Im not one for the spiritual side of things tbh mang - but there is a lot happening on that date that seems a bit past co-incidental.

Yeah, but according to whom? That's the big question. I haven't seen any reputable scientific work that supports the mayan hypothesis. The idea that the mayans could tell when our solar system had lined up with our galaxy (most of which they could not even see) is pushing things too far without a corresponding amount of evidence.

Posted by pkcRAISTLIN on May-21-2008 06:55:

also funny how the mayan calendar didn't warn them of the spaniards and a little-known project called gun powder.

Ignore the prophecy stuff mang but read up on the accuracy of their calendar and astronomy

Actually it did - they thought the spaniards were gods.

solar flares are on a 11 year cycle.. and on the increase since we reached the low point of the cycle sort in recent years. thank god, shortwave radio enthusiasts in australia can take control once again!

you're smarter than you look!
things to keep in mind...
the earth has it's own temperature cycles, and we're approaching the peak.
also the temperature on mars on rising too.. what the mars rovers are polluting the planet and increasing the temperature? no...
and don't forget about the ice age, that was well before industrialization.
