Can ketchup stay left out

or does it have to be refrigerated?

Posted by Trance Nutter on May-23-2008 08:34:

should say on the bottle.

But for reference I keep my sauce in the pantry. But then sauce isn't the same as ketchup.
But come to think about it, when you're in a restaurant/diner/cafe and theres ketchup on the table its room temp.

Wow, had you thought it out like I just did you would have saved TA another useless thread. Good work

That song awakes the urge to kill, crash and burn things.

Catsup is finer than tomato sauce, it has vinager, sugar and salt added in.............and a smack of bull semen

From my experience...

LEFT OUT:
Only exception is you have to shake it before you use it. If you don't you will get liquid ketchup and you won't be pleased. I think this happens because as the air temperature changes the bi-products of ketchup separate. I prefer to do this with BBQ sauce as well.

IN FRIDGE:
Ketchup in the fridge would keep a constant cool temperature preventing this liquid dispensing when in use. Still shake it before use

PS. I also learned wraps from the grocery store i.e (nissan) says they have to be fridgerated when opened. When I do they usually turn into paper machete and fall apart very easily. To prevent that I would not put them in the fridge and they would be fine. I would 99%of the time eat the entire pkg within a week or two so by then they would not get moldy anyways so it works out.

PS. you can add ketchup to lionslair favorite sandwich. See existing thread in progress for more info.
