Interesting article. This quote is what bugs me though-----> "They enjoy entitlements like Social Security, but they do not pay federal income taxes." Plus they also love the mainland paying for those roads over there. I want to not pay income tax too! But on the other hand, I'd rather pay income taxes on the mainland than live in P.R. and not pay them.
i had no idea they collected SS. dude?
been to Puerto Rico 6 times. 4 times in one year. it's buttfrikken hot! saw my first topless dancing midget (could've been a dwarf?) found half-a-doobie sitting on a rock while hiking in the rain forests. i kept it in my bunk wrapped in duct-tape till we got back to home port two months later and it KICKED MY ASS!!!
i've got a lot of stories about PR but if youre an American and not a tourist, it's not good to be in a lot of places. they didn't like what the military was doing to the neighboring island of Viaques. the Marines would use Viaques as a war games area practicing beach invasion scenarios like D-Day. it was one big artillery target. the island was uninhabited save for the Peurto Rican security guards there. one day one of them somehow accidentally got blown up and all hell broke wanting the Americans off the island and eventually the shutting down of Roosevelt Roads Naval Base.
they are a proud people and they love their independence. where else could you by a fifth Bacardi for $4 bucks!

Puero Rican girls are very sexy!
While PR may be seen as relatively poor when compared to the 50 states that make up the US, on the flipside they are considered very wealthy when compared to all other Latin American countries.
Been to San Juan twice. That one dude was right... it's hot as balls there. Lots of sexy girls, yes. It's hilarious though to see so many girls like 12 years old dressed like prostitutes and strutting their stuff.
