Samples from Vannila sky - trance - feedback please???
Hey guys
Just working on a few tunes and thought Id try this site for some useful feedback. Doenst have to be on indepth audio technology stuff (but always helps), just how it sounds to you is great.
This is something I thought of doing when I watched the film Vanilla Sky, so downloaded the AVI and pinched some quotes from it.
I used Cubase SX3, and mainly the Nexus VST. used Battery for the Kick, and the rest of the percussions is loops from the vengeance sound packs.. Let me know if youve got any quesions / suggestions
Thanks a lot in advacne

i liked it... except for the bass... i dunno what it is about it... it could just be these shitty speakers... but really... nice track...
the main and backing synth sounds are great... a little high... but not anoyingly high... the patterns are typical though. might as well of had a
o--o--o-
1+++2+++
thing goin...
hey
thanks a lot, always nice to hear some positive feedback, glad you liked some elements of the track - and as a amateur music prosucer, thats like music to my ears (bad pun)
With the bass, Ive been scratching my head with it. I really like it at first, but as time has gone on Im starting to not - might start from scrath with it.
But on the whole, I know this tune isnt gonna get a release, but its been a good learning xperience, and is infinately better than my previous stuff... god is was fuking terrible
I Always have problems with basses. Ive decided to look carefully into creating basses, and am experimenting with different VSTs and EQs. if anyone has got any suggestions for a bass, that would be great. Im using Nexus at the moment for this track, so maybe you may suggest some patches I can downlaod?
Any more feedback would be cool....
Cheers all

i've never used nexus. i use reason. and a refill with some hardware synth sounds. i'd look up 'nexus plugin download' or something to that effect... and umm... i do this all the time... don't keep the same bass line through the whole song. let it evolve with the drums and other synths in your production.
