Looking back on when you first started partying...
I was just looking at my external hard drive and found lots of old pics from when I first started partying, as well as first started meeting TAs. Some awesome pictures haha.
I'm looking at these well I'm listening to Trance, which I haven't done in like over 2 years. I started partying and getting into stuff in like 2003, but I know other people got into stuff way earlier than me. I listened to the music since like 1998 though.
I got into this as a person that didn't party in highschool at all, didn't drink, was super shy, and stayed in all the time. I turned 19, and that's actually when I first started drinking ever. My friend Rob dragged me out of the house to come to some house parties because I wouldn't come, and gave me some drinks lol.
My friend Rob forced me to go to my first club, which I didn't want to go to because I was too scared to go "I don't know how to dance!" (not that I know now lol) and was super shy at the time haha. Little did I know what it would lead to, and how much I would love it, actually getting on the floor by myself and busting a move all night LOL.
I'm only 25, which I know, blah blah blah isn't old, but I swear yesterday I was friggin 19 haha, and started all this. So much time has gone by so fast it seems, but so many amazing times and memories. I'm sure we've all changed so much since we first started partying, I know I have, BIG TIME! Mr. super shy isn't so super shy anymore, and Mr. didn't want to dance because he didn't know how, doesn't give a crap anymore and will dance how he wants LOL. I've had some crazy danceoffs with some hardcore dancers, Kelly (Dance2DaBeat), Nada (iLLnaDa), and Jay (KEFKKA) are the top 3.
I've met some awesome people, and lots that I'm actually friends with outside of club stuff. So many great people that I wouldn't have met if it wasn't for the scene. Cottage and house parties (Nada! :P), club stuff, and just hanging out times.
Big thanks to several people. Kelly (Dance2dabeat), you got me into house music, as well as made me more open and took that shyness factor I had and made me chuck it out the window lol. I friggin love you and always will.
Also big thanks to Rob. I would have never gotten into this if it wasn't for you. I would have never met the people I met, like Kelly, and would have never gotten out there to see and do the things I've done. I've known you since grade 8 (as I tell many people haha), and I can honestly say, you've helped me become the person I am today. Straight up!
I'm still young I know, I look it still that's for sure lol, but the time has just flown by! Totally fast.
I'm sure other people have some pictures of them when they first started partying, so lets see them!

hahahah, i remember my first party was with you and cam. You told me everything about the guv/koolhaus, and showed me around, Chris Lawrence was playing, it was G2 on canada day. What a great time !
The first time I went partying was to see Armin and Junkie XL in April of 2004. Dan and Rob dragged me out. That was still awesome. The best part was partying with those ridiculous girls in the parking lot for an hour after we got out, remember that Dan? Hahhahaha.
Also fuckin LOl at my Medium Pimpin shirt. I'm sure a few of you have seen the remnants of that by now.
For trance, PvD in 2001...Warehouse...WOW. FUCK...WOW. I skipped out on Tiesto at the Docks for Wintergalactic for it and it changed my life...hell that entire year did. I went from that to Mauro Picotto at the Victoria Day party at Guv complex that year. Aphrodite and DMC championship that year. IT WAS NUTS!
Then I saw at the Guv "5 year" Tiesto at the new "Koolhaus" KILL it, I have a pretty decent quality vid of it someone took too!
Then THREE DAYS after PvD IN the Guv main room (Wed october...) in which he dropped For an Angel as an encore, but also played essentially what was known at the time (later on) as his tour/tracklist for Politics of Dancing (the first one). I was a HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEE fan of his Gatecrasher Summer soundsystem set...then wow, completely being overwhelmed and having no idea how to react when similar stuff is being played live in front of you, just made me NEVER miss a set of his when he is here. (except those that are out of my control). Then once the first year or so got the ball rolling, AvB 10 times, Ferry 6 times, etc etc. C'est la vie...

I had never been to a club in my life, let along an edm event. Barry dragged me out, and I am glad he did.
I think there was already a thread about your first review, so I'm not going to get into it. It was definitely an awesome night though.

my first EDM party was back in 1993 in some small club in Thunder Bay....I remember leaving the party at 1:00 am and my friends telling me the party isn't over yet....we ended up going to an old barn outside of town where about 300 people were keeping the party going until everyone dropped....I think we left somewhere around 9 am as I had class at 10.

Then a about a year and a half later i started going to raves on a regular basis.
This was the first "rave" i ever went to
sadly i don't have any pictures from those days anymore...

i started listening to trance around 1997 until 2001. my first party was big bud at the docks when mark e.g. was playing in the side room and my friend decepticon was playing as well. lets just say i didnt really "party" back then. one night when i was at guv/the drink for a friend's birthday i got my first experience and feel in love with house (mainly progressive back then). it was mark oliver that converted me from trance to house. during my early guv days (i had gone to guv a few times between 1997 and 2001 but never really paid attention to the music or what was going on around me) i met shaya for the first time on the patio and he was showing me pics on his camera. i thought what he did was awesome so i went out and bought my very first camera the following week. the rest is history.
I was going to Purple Room since I was 17 to listen to Techno, House and Trance. But my 1st real Toronto Party wasn�t till I was 19 at Turbo for Ritchie Hatwin and Sven Vath. It was the greatest thing I ever experienced in my whole life and I have been hooked ever since: toothless When I First started to party though I was more in Hard Acid Techno and Hard Trance.

My first few years of partying were in Toronto and I never gave a damn who the DJ was for at least a full year. haha!! It was more about the party for me........It was the time of my life, and, ironically, having my own crew, I never met ANY TA's!! (except I do have a random picture with shanny in the background!)....no surprise there, eh?
NOTHING was better than my first couple years in toronto. I would give my left tit to do it over again.....well maybe not my tit since they are fabulous, but maybe my left hand.

I started partying at a club called "inner city" looooong time ago...did my round of the all ages parties..club focus..spectrum..etc..
took a break for a while.....and came back into the scene around 97...one of my first parties was the "love rave" at the guvernment..with paul oakenfold..and a killer closing set by dr. trance..can't wait to see home come out of retirement for wemf..
my first party was "connected" @ the better living centre in '99 or maybe '98. if my memory serves me right there were like 30,000 people and it was oakenfold, dj dan, bad boy bill, and carl cox. i went with a bunch of friends from college and only one of them ended up joining TA, kalemic (sean crawford).
after that, i didn't party much. went to guv a few times but didn't really get back into it until spring 2003. hooper (urbanlegend), mark (turntabulls), and i worked together and we randomly went to see hatiras spin at this small club in barrie which led to some random afterparty until like 9 in the morning. after that we dove head first and started going to guv every weekend for almost 6 months. looking back at pics, the only TA's i partied with then were "jenniepie", "shaya", "samhouse", and "spitty". i'll see if i can dig up some of those pics.

that was a sick connected...!! probably one of the last times i enjoyed a paul oakenfold set....

I'll just say for me the first party in this 'scene' was a Sunday night house jam at Orange Room in Dec '98. A friend that had already been partying for a couple of years dragged me out since he knew I was already such a big trance/euro head. I have some classic pics/memories from that night. 
Funny story - one of my credit cards has my pic on it, and they let you choose a photo to send in for it. So, a few months after that party I sent in a pic/headshot with me grinning from ear to ear -- needless to say, I think it's expired 3 times since then but they keep sending me new cards with the same pic, I love it, lol.

Back in the day i use to love love wearing the Big UFO Pants with a white dress shirt and a black tie and hat. I wore this outfit so much that Knox told me he use to see me all the time and remembered seeing me tearing it up before he even met me.
Some of my first clubbing experiences were at this small club called
Necto in Ann Arbor, MI.
It was 18 and over and would bring in well known DJs regularly. I used to tell my parents I was sleeping over at someone's house and we would drive to Ann Arbour and party over there, then drive back and party at our friends' places. The first few times we got lost going and I could never call my dad to ask him how to get there b/c he didn't know I took the car to Ann Arbor. So we knocked on someone's door randomly and accidently woke them up! hahaha
Good memories.
