Read This! What's the atmosphere of the parade at Lovefest like?

Can we party in the streets and follow floats we like, or do you have to dance in place on the street?

Even though it would be in daylight, would glowstringing/freehanding/light shows be permitted?

What's the parade atmosphere like?

very relaxed. You can easily follow a float along the street. You could probably get away with glow sticking no problem though people tend to light them up more once the sun sets.

some people follow their favorite promoter's floats, walking along side the whole time, and others just pick a spot along the route and wait for the parade to pass, which is what i do.

loved last years event got to chill out with the 1015 float for most of the time. just be prepared for madness once all the floats reach their destination.

be sure to bring sunblock!

Last year there were also naked people walking around too...not the people you wanted to see naked walking around by any stretch of the imagination though! I remember a group of police were in front of the nudists when a lady came up and said "those men are naked," and they just shrugged their shoulders like "wtf do you want us to do about it, this is the Lovefest!"

Very relaxed indeed...

The parade and the festival following it are both incredibly relaxed. You can pretty much do as you please (though I, personally, don't condone lightshows or whatever, but I wont be anywhere near the Spundae float so go for it). Oh, and expect to see the same greased-up guy in a g-string jerking off as he does every year. It's gross, but it's become such a part of Love Fest that it doesn't seem like it'd be a party without him.

Wading through the crowd with Mystre last year breaking off to get Infected Mushroom for our float I heard the distant cry of someone saying

"aw faccck, that naked dude just brushed up against me!"

i have a feeling that was either me or VJ.

anyways, the LF parade is like... take your greatest orgasm, add 4 and multiply it by 10.

Hahah. Prolly was! I heard it more than a few times in the crowd.

Never went or participated in the day parade before. It was kinda funny watching some of the families who were outta towners looking onto the parade with their children and then quickly covering their eyes or running away in a panic cause it wasent just your ordinary parade. I think some of them were expecting a Macy's parade with ballons and stuff, not naked people ranging from men and women.

Also seeing the fat married men with smiles on their faces and their fat wives slapping them. From a distance you can actually read their lips as they smack or backhand them saying "Stop staring" or "WTF are you looking at".

Wappa!
