Review ....Cevapi eating party..Footy....and Guv for some.
So after waiting for more than a month the Epic party organized by some wonderful people took place yesterday .....(Awesome job done by all the organizers and people who helped put this together).
So I finished work got Ania from Union and then tara and sagar from a secret location in downtown.....We arrived at the party around 7ish I think......90% of the people from the roll call were there....And then rest you see what happened in the pics....

Then the pimp mobile went to brabs place at a secret location somewhere in downtown....

The Pimp and his hot and sexy hoes ...

and the last stop Footy....Had a great time the DJ destroyed the whole place with his banging beats loved every second of it crazy and massive build ups....

In action....
Thank you everyone who came out and who I chilled with you guys rock I love you all.
Hi Ania !!!!!!

ok so i posted my review in the wrong thread
*walks back to noob-ville*
hahahaha
PS. SOrry for being so poopy and tired at Barb's... I think they put something special in the mixed meat
hahaha
...................
My review, moved from the other thread (don't start!):
For food, I ordered the regular mixed meat plate which was excellent. Both the Ćevapi and the shish kebab were perfectly cooked and very juicy. The potatoes were a little dry, but I didn't go there to eat potatoes. I also got to mooch a little bit of the schnitzel, which was equally tasty (not over-breaded which is often the case), and some chocolate crpe at the end, which I think was good but was already too stuffed to know for sure. Sadly I did not get to try the spicy hamburger which I heard was the highlight for many.
There wasn't much in the way of spice (Ania: they had pepper!?), but part of that just speaks to the quality of the meat, which had more than enough flavour on its own. The only thing I was really disappointed about was that they gave us cole slaw instead of onions.
The kajmak (that was the cheese/yogurt stuff in the naan-ish bread, for those who don't know) was also superb. Way, way better than the stuff I tried a few years ago by the same name. Perfect creamy consistency and mild yet cheesy taste.
The place itself is pretty unpretentious, easy to miss if you're just driving by. I liked that it was also a bar - the drinks made it much better for a social event. The heat was a little ridiculous, but otherwise they made us pretty comfortable. I'm not sure if I'll be heading there every weekend but I'd definitely stop by again if I'm in the area.
Turnout was as expected, about 25 people, most showing up between 6:30 and 7:00. Just felt like rubbing that in.
Unfortunately I didn't really get to chat with everyone. But to the ones I did get to chill with, thanks for making it a great night! RJ and margs, you know it's always a pleasure; Patrick (I think), I hope that scarf is machine-washable; Mikey, you're a lot less serious in person; Kamila, hope this means you'll start to come out once or twice a year; Ania, don't worry, my afro isn't going anywhere; Sasha, I can't believe you passed up the chance for another free shot; Umair, I told you we wouldn't be talking any politics! AJ, now that we've been introduced you'll have to actually say hello at parties when you're standing 6 feet away; and Tara, you're the second-most-fun person I've met here, and would surely have been #1 were it not for the ickypants treatment on our way out.
If I didn't mention you by name, it means I hate you. (Really though, I wish there'd been more time to talk to everyone).
Oh, and thank you VERY much AJ for handling the bill. I'm not sure if you volunteered or if people just started throwing money at you. Either way, I hope you didn't end up short!
Other Highlights:
- The recurring argument about French Ravioli and Lasagne.
- Gettin' diggy wit it (shhhh...)
- Everybody trying to pronounce "hvala".
- Slivovitz shots after dinner (and yes, it IS closest to brandy, and to those who wussed out, you're all a bunch of wussies)
- Requiring 3 attempts plus tech support to take the group picture. Sketchy!
Finally, submitted for the eerily intense scrutiny of RJ and Margs:

But I don't remember where I actually saw it, I'm sorry.
i had an awesome time yesterday! i'm so glad i made the trek down from the farm lands of richmond hill to see all the people that came down.
i arrived just after 6 and there were only 3 people there, RJ, Margaret and Alex. shame on all of you who were late
. However, it everything worked out great, as it usually does with these sort of get togethers.
the food was good. like digi said earlier, the kajmak was very good. i'm very glad i got to try this sort of food because i probably would have never set my foot down in this restaurant. again, thanks so much for everyone who was part of the organizing team.

Aaron now I know how you look like
ok SUSHI PLSSSSSSSS I swear I'll be good the night before
haha from what ania told me i missed out.
and i'd be on top of sushi like a hobo on a ham sandwich...
Well what a night!
Sasha and I got there a bit late.. fashionably so
not surprising since its me and Im always late.. but right away things were fun
It was nice meeting everyone and seeing some familiar faces
you all know who you are so theres no need to list ya. the salad I had was fantastic
and Im really glad I made it out for this.
Crazy times in the corner with Sasha and Tara.. and dont worry silly.. you can still have your half
its untouchable hahah
It was great meeting you Kamilla, so glad you came out.. now we have to get you to come party with us! Thanks so much for starting this.. it was a great time
After the dinner party a bunch of people obviously came over to my place for some silliness.. haha I love random smoking adventures, drunken photos and the highlight of my night: running over to Sawgrs place on my floor and getting him to come out with us! haha totally random.. definitely caught you off guard didnt we?
First I stopped by Footy for a bit.. it was still early and things were dead so I jumped over to guv with Sasha. The gallery was rockin at 12 .. already things were crazy. It was definitely a highlight of my night. After an hour I headed back to footy with boyfriend and the real craziness began. The Pimps and Hoes party was hilarious. Thanks to Sasha, Sagar, Tare and Ummie for some great times <3 we were by far the best dressed
and we matched accidently which made it soo much better. The last DJ was amazing.. with his crazy spinny hat and his miniature size .. haha
Did anyone see the tranny rolling around on the speakers? haaha hilariousss.. soo many guys thought she was gorgeous and a real girl.. I was dyinnggg
so dinner
9/10.. Oz wasnt there so my heart was a bit broken
Guv
9/10.. didnt get to catch all of it but what I got to experience was fun fun fun
and footy
10/10 great music, great people, amazing outfits and hilarious antics all night
over all it was an amazing day <3 we all have to do it again soon! Sushi sounds amazing haha right sashimi
First of all I love the pics Ummie and Smuncky <3 cant wait to see the others.
So my adventure started after Sagar and I played scavenger hunt trying to find Umairs secret pick up location. We arrived FASHIONABLY late and were greeted by many familiar faces and a few new ones.
As always I was really nervous about trying new foods. My inner small town girl comes out. But I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed everything! The two highlights were the appertizer bread/cheesy-yogurt and the sourcream/cheese tasting roll thing with meat (lol I dont know what any of it was called). Everything I tasted was delicious. Our table ordered the mixed plate of everything, which I think was a GREAT choice

I wish I could have talked more to everyone. Gabi (fabulous memory btw), Alex (at my table), Ben, Aj, Jeff, Negar, kamila I hope to see you guys soon I hardly go to speak with any of you.
Fahad (as if you forgot about me
) lets work on finding a bar for sunday! Somewhere with big screens (we cant miss out on any action) This is going to be an awesome race.
Aaron it was good to meet you. I hope I can be #1 someday. Although you didnt miss much at FW (read below) you shoulda come, youre pimpin
Marg and RJ Love seeing you two as always. Hope you enjoyed your leftovers. And Im expecting an invite to a poutine party soon.
Ania Cant wait for you to move to Toronto! You rock xoxoxo. You better party with us next time you come down!!
Everyone else xoxoxoxoxo
Vibe - 9/10 Only because it sucked that we were all split up (which i realize its next to impossible to have 25 people at one table). And Sasha N passing out = SKETCHY lol
People - 12/10
Great seeing new faces, and familiar ones. Had fun with everyone I talked to.
Food - 10/10
Overall - 11/10 Woot woot!
As ALWAYS I had fun at Barbs house. Thanks again for everything hunny. xoxoxo. Favourite party of the night, tracking down Sawgr and the getting him to come out. True TA style! (what a lucky guy to be greeted by the three of us lovely ladies)
I have to disagree with Umair about Footwork... When we first got there (just before 12) it was DEAD (understatement). The Dj(i think baby joel) was playing some very funky jazzy music, which I would of enjoyed at a lounge, I just dont think it was suitable for FW or as a warm up for the headliner. I think (I wasnt close enough to see) there was a second dj (matt c?)who played before Michelangelo, because things picked up a bit, but i still had a hard time getting into it. And then there was Michelangelo... what can I say about him? A little sketchy when you watch him (hoping someone has pics, Sasha?). I can see why he opens for Danny T, there is a slight resemblance in sound - but Michelangelo lacks flow, consistance, and a vision. I felt like everytime I was FINALLY getting into it, it slowed down, changed directions (in a weird/bad/non fitting way). Umair, I will agree that he did play some banging tracks and some tracks that I really enjoyed, but it takes more than just a couple random good tracks to get me into it.
The crowd there... Its kinda weird when every guy looks like a creeper and every girl looks like a... ho. I was kinda annoyed at the fact that every time I turned around I saw some dude grinning and eye fucking me. But then again... I looked like a ho. It was all just kinda weird. Girls on the speakers trying (key word) to dance sexy. But nevertheless I was with good company and good friends. Sagar, Sasha x2, Umair, Barb, Matt (sorry you had to leave early) love you all <3 Barb, Sasha, and I were definitely the best dressed girls, YAY for matching costumes!!
Im really glad Umair had a good time, he doesnt come out enough. And like what was said on our way out... any night out is better than sitting on the couch. And spending a night out with friends is always perfect.
Barb I hope Cruella didnt eat you!
Ohhhh and then we (Umair) lost the car and we wandered the streets lol!!
Music 5.5/10
Vibe 6/10
Friends 10/10
Hope to see everyone at Dance 2 Da Beat!
