FILM LOUNGE - going downhill?

I hit Film fairly regularly and have done because I liked the dirty electro beats and the anonymity of the place. Aadil and Jayforce were and still are amazing. However, I have noticed that lately that with other DJs, the music has changed, with a lot of vocals and big uplifts.. which is great in a trance club but personally, I can't handle standing around for 30 seconds while I wait for the beat to come back. I get bored and feel like a spare part. The whole point of Film is that it's a dirty afterhours playing dirty beats.

Anyone else noticing this?

I think you have to like everything dirty to hit film regularly. I always thought it was one of the shadiest electronic clubs in the city.

You think Jayforce is good, there's your problem.

I haven't been yet but still want to check it out.
After looking at pictures, I don't know about the records all over the walls.

Film Lounge and Comfort Zone same nasty parents. Footwork younger sibling to the other 2...at least that's how I remembered the trio!

Nice analogy.
I always considered The Gallery to be a younger brother of CZ

Ok, he was good... now i'm not sure. I was just trying to be nice rather than slag him off for the most recent set I saw which WAS lousy..

I saw him at zone recently and there were WAY too many effects in his set and it turned me right off.. I actually prefer the roaches. I cannot tolerate the Guv anymore... it's just way too hot in there and I can never settle in a room. Love footwork.. I guess I'm running out of club ideas, so I hit the same old place and hope something good will happen.

And yes, I like dirty beats and if that makes me dirty, then I think that's a bonus!

nah, there isnt records all over the walls, just one area. Pics of filmstars up, and the dancefloor has a yellow brick road.. I'll be honest, the place IS getting old for me... especially now that it appears that the weekly residents of Pulse have decided to move in, making it damn near impossible to get to the bathroom...

I've always wanted to checkout Film because I love Jayforce!!!

I've only been 2x, back when they played trancier stuff, was fun. Wasn't a fan of house back then. I know it's open but didn't know how it was.

I went once like 4 years ago and I'm pretty sure everybody in the place was on coke the entire time.

+1

Not only that, there was a biker in full colours in the VIP keeping an eye on things when I went. Kinda intimidating.

Not a lot of love for Film Lounge in here. I used to count on it for a good time, but it's disappointed lately. I was there on Saturday night and never heard a worse set there. Either the DJ didn't know what crowd he was playing to, or they're trying to change the crowd.

And I agree with DiskoBiskit.... the dirtier the better.

If the place is that dirty, they better clean it up!

I think it started going downhill just after the second time somebody got shot there.

Yep, and very strongly - full crowd. Just the music is starting to disappoint me lately.

I find the staff really friendly and the doormen are intimidating when they need to be, otherwise they are friendly. I find that they look after women more so than at Guv. Those guys don't give a shit...

Wasn't that a few years ago? Have there not been other incidents at most clubs? I dunno what the answer is..
