Webster Hall and Neighborhood Questions

I've got a couple of questions. I'm going to be in the city for week starting the 20th of June. First off how is the area around Eldrige St.? Secondly, should Webster Hall be avoided or would it be worthwhile to see Cosmic Gate there. Finally, out of all the vinyl shops on the visitors guide which ones still exist?

wh is basically union square which is perfectly safe. if you can go to cosmic gate go, it won't be crazy crowded and it'll be fun.

Neighborhood around Webster Hall is fun.

Webster Hall is an OK venue for the most part. There are definitely worse venues to see a show in NYC.

oodles of bars and lounges within walking distance of where you'll be staying. also, stop by Dumpling House on eldridge for good cheap eats.

Other Music records (still around, i think) is on 4th, between broadway/lafayette and has a decent though small selection. they also sell tix to a lot of club events.

Eldridge, especially below Delancey St, is a trendy neighbourhood with lots of boutiques, really good restaurants and bars and not so far from SoHo, also very close to Little Italy, really good food- check out the meat and cheese stores around Grand and Mulberry, there's one in particular called Di Palo on Grand St. Da Nico is a great restaurant on Mulberry Street, my favourite.
Webster Hall is quite decent, I had a blast when I went for Sasha & Digweed. It used to be pretty bad some time ago, but it's doing MUCH better now, improved sound system and it's recently been renovated. It's configured in a very odd way, with the bathrooms all the way in the basement.
About shops, you should check out Halcyon in Brooklyn: www.halcyonline.com
