In Silicon Valley for the summer...any good clubs?

Hi CATA's, I'm interning in Sunnyvale for the summer from now until mid-August, and I'm living in San Jose during this time. I don't really know anyone in the area, so I just wanted to say hi and see what you guys and girls that live around here do for fun. More specifically I'm interested in some bars/clubs that play house/techno. Thanks in advance for responses, and it would be cool if I met some of you.

I hang out in SV often, but haven't really found anything decent as far as what you're describing. You're just better off heading into SF. It's not too bad...maybe 45-50 minutes away, which is what I drive from OC to get to LA anyway on the weekends. And if that drive is too far for you, you could always head north to Millbrae and hop on the BART from there. I do that often.

I live in Sunnyvale, so there is no house music here.

But, you should check out Cardiff Lounge. I'm going there tonight, cuz on Tuesdays it is popping!

Just go to SF!

Cardiff Lounge in downtown Campbell is good if you like house.
Blowfish in Santana Row on the border of Campbell & San Jose is good for house as well.

Once in awhile there'll be EDM at Avalon in Santa Clara, Abyss in Sunnyvale and clubs in downtown San Jose. Usually Cyber JOe & D:Jay would host them there.

In Palo Alto, there is B412 that plays House/Techno. Saturday nights are better than Fridays.

Thanks for the replies...so it seems like SF is the place to be around here. It sucks that I don't have a car here, but it looks like there are other ways to get there as well.

What about any underground/house parties in the area?

why would you go the 9 yards all the way to cali and stop just short of sf??????

if you don't mind hanging out in the city until 8 every morning, there's a ton of stuff you can do until southbound service reopens... the most reliable bet is the endup, which plays strictly house and techno around the clock on the weekends.

Fair warning, I usually get there when the club opens, and dont leave until the club closes. sometimes 6-7AM.

And there's like bunch of people that live around Sunnyvale that goes to the city often, hitch a ride with them.

Thanks for the info everyone, and for the invitations - I definitely will get in touch to try to get to SF. Yea I am 21 so that'll be no problem getting in. Man I was getting depressed that this summer I would be bored to death, but now things are starting to look better.

btw, is anyone heading up to the endup this saturday for the Kontrol 3-year anniversary?

yes, a lot of people are. i'll show up there eventually. the club usually starts filling right around midnight, then the second wave comes around 2-3am all the way to 6. if you don't beat the second wave, you could be standing out there in line for up to an hour. if you like techno, this is the best monthly in town.

Kontrol? Never been. Tehcno too, huh?

The patio.. that where most people stay at. For me the patio is considered as a main room. :) nice cozy..u can hang out and smoke..

Haha. I think its from growin up in NYC when I was younger. I lived 8 and a half blocks from what was then Studio 54 when I was a kid.

I hope you do decide to trek up with us on Saturday 4Clubber.

Endup is down the street from 1015 so youll have the opp to check out both venues should you choose to do so.

Danny howells is out on the 4th. According to his website Alain is opening up for....



im going to be in san diego that weekend, so I will check BBB out that thursday night at On broadway.... so tempted to go up to SF instead though...
