Work Naps

I take one everyday on my lunch hour. Usually get in about 45 min. Soooooooo refreshed for the last bit of work. Does anyone else participate in a littly nappy time at there job?

Where job?

Yeah, I do that in night shifts occasionally because there can easily be 2 hour gaps when there's absolutely nothing to do.

Yes, they are amazing. Just make sure you don't sleep more than 45 minutes or you will feel worse.

every day from 11:30-12:00.

slightly related story, today i fell asleep (as i usually do) and woke up to the sounds of people working, i ended up forgetting to set an alarm + not hearing the bell sound for break to be over and woke up around 12:15. whoops.

were not supposed to take naps at work but some guys do anyways. just yesterday i saw this one guy sprawled out on 2 chairs behind an open closet door. it was funny.

another slightly related story- a buddy of mine from back home used to work 3rd shift as a security guard for a construction site (for a big apartment park), we used to go there and drink and walk around the half-built complexes. well, he used to always tell us about how he would never sleep on the job, but the one time he did a couple of punk kids ended up vandalizing the entire property and stealing a bunch of shit. go figure.

I can't count the number of times I have woken up on one of the couches in the staff room to my name being called over the intercom b/c i have slept over 15 minutes past the end of my lunch

Last week I was so tired and had finished all my work for the day and it was dead so I passed out on a pile of tents in the back room

naps are such a huge part of my daily life

Shit most of the time Im working through my lunch. Must be nice to get a "power nap" in.

Posted by Fibonacci on Jun-04-2008 00:08:

I used to when I drove to work out on long island, pass out in my car 45 minute power nap. I do the whole subway/bus thing now, so not really any place to do that now...

would be impossible

Posted by tubularbills on Jun-04-2008 00:26:

not at work, but did all the time in school.

go to classes in the morning, take a nap, go to classes in the afternoon.

then drink.

I work in an office, so only place i can nap is in my car,, or this cool little room at my work.. its called the comfort room. If you feel sick, or dizzy ...or just need to be in a quiet dark room ,,,,I LOVE IT <3

theres a bed and phone with some covers there.. only thing is ,, if i use it too often,, i think my work would say something about it

i work in a weld shop, so i sleep on a pallet. and use a leather glove stuffed on top of a kneepad as a pillow. /ghetto.

Posted by r5a on Jun-04-2008 01:06:

hell yea. just for for a half and hour or an hour.

i usually do that in the server room. if i were to do it in my office my boss would kill me and people always come in. its pretty sick, i just lay down on the floor behind the server rack cabinets and let loose.

i used to take naps all the time and still do. essential.

When I was doing college football last season I had to be at work at 5 or 6 in the morning sometimes. The lunch naps were boooommbbb.

Posted by Project-K on Jun-04-2008 02:32:

At one of my first jobs, we had this huge and comfy leather couch in the break room, so I'd go crash there for an hour. That is of course when I wasn't so high on energy drinks and coffee that I could actually manage to fall asleep.

Posted by pkcRAISTLIN on Jun-04-2008 02:35:

manage a 20-30 min snooze most lunch breaks. feel crap afterwards but that's the price you pay...

i work as a lifeguard at a hotel, took a nap in the office. for some reason i took off my shirt and shorts, sleeping in my underwear. 2 hours later the front desk manger starts looking for me and walks in on me sleeping on my underwear, and i got wriiten up.
