MOBY, etc @ BFD08 - who's going?
So I'm heading out to BFD this Saturday to see Moby, of course there are a bunch of other names on the bill as well. Saw Moby last year at Slide and it was a great show even though it was way too crowded! Then I just saw this video of him performing at Movement 08 in Detroit a couple weeks ago... here's the video... $10 tickets if anyone is interested... anyone going to this?
moby is also playing that night at mezzanine along with motor, mstrkrft and shit disco fyi
is there a list of the set times anywhere? i would check out moby and mstrkrft
I saw he's playing at mezz, I'd go to that also but gotta get up early on Sunday.
Moby is playing at 10pm, not sure what time mstrkrft is playing.

For 10+ years Live 105 ran a weekly EDM show on Saturday nights called Subsonic. It was a great inspiration musically for myself and many others around the bay area. Live 105 has consistantly featured electronic DJs/Artists on a separate "Subsonic" stage at BFD.

Do you think if I can get the ticket at the door? I just don't feel like paying the ticketmaster convenience fee.

yeah 10pm in the Subsonic tent @ BFD. not sure about tickets at the door if I had to guess I'd say probably but I didn't want to risk it even as much as I hate ticketmaster
I'll try to be there today. I was hoping to get my tickets at the venue cause of those stupid service fee by ticket master increases the cost of the ticket to double, but the show is sold out. Hopefully I can score some tix from craigslist

so i hear it mstrkrft and moby were really good with moby stage diving into the crowd? how old is he these days anyways?
I arrived at BFD right around 6pm, Pennywise was playing and I really enjoyed their performance! between Penny and Cypress I walked over to the Subsonic tent where the DJ, not sure who was playing... I think the DJ before AM, anyway mixing was a concept this guy did not understand, he was like a human jukebox I didn't feel like anything really went together and every mix just seemed like a throw over, kinda like a radio megamix or whatever but I've heard megamixes before that actually flowed... I didn't stay there long had to get back over for Cypress... so I'm back at the main stage, Cypress Hill came on and man if you weren't smokin then you were high just because everyone around you was smoking, it was crazy! Lots of friendly potheads out there tho
MSTRKRFT and Moby were good, of course I liked Moby a bit better, but seems to me like he played a little more pop than when I heard him play at Slide which makes sense I guess because of the crowd environment etc. Over all a good time, I'm happy I went!
I left after Cypress Hill. I was too tired, so I missed MSTRKRFT and Moby. I listened to DJ AM's mashup for about 10 minutes. The programming and flow sucked, but the crowd ate it up, probably because he played the popular songs that people are familiar with. I was at Ruby Skye on Friday for Ricky Stone. He also played a number of popular mixes, REM, etc. But the flow is much better.
heard MSTRKRFT rocked the hell out of the place......even dropped Usher - love in the club....LOL
Yeah MSTRKRFT were dropping lots of different well known tunes, at least 2 daft punk tracks, maybe 3. They also had some sound issues in the beginning of their set, and I wasn't impressed with their transitions between tracks, but in all fairness I really think there was some issue w/ the equipment or monitors spkrs because even Moby was a little off compared to when I saw him before... nothing too major, I probably only noticed because I'm a DJ.
My one criticism of the Subsonic tent is that there was too much pop music. It's good to cater to the audience with popular tunes but it is also good to introduce them to music they have likely never heard. IMO that is what makes a good show great, having the proper balance between popular and new music.
...and good mixing of course
