Virtually all bars have either TSN, Sportsnet or TheScore on during the day. And with no kind of hockey available, they will be showing these games for sure

I believe it is, but I'm still stuck in the stone-age and I don't have HD yet at my place... DOH!

I have sportsnet at home, but never checked if it was in HD, never watch sportsnet, nothing good on it.

Because we have TSN and the CRTC (FTC equivalent) forbids US channels in Canada where there is a canadian equivalent, to protect the canadian channel market.

TSN is owned by espn btw... go figure.

Will you be getting the ESPN commentators then if TSN is owned by ESPN? I think that would be the logical choice.

In the past I've heard the English commentators on TSN ( not the canadian ones ), the commentators they are reffering to on livesoccer must be the ones in the intermissions.

I just read that press release and it says that TSN and Sportsnet will use their own commentators for everything EXCEPT during the game. So we will have to endure the morons during pre-game, post-game and half-time, but we will have the English announcers during the games, thank god!!! Who cares what Craig Forrest has to say?? Canadians should only be used to analyze and comment on hockey.

And yeah, we don't get ESPN or HBO or any of the good US channels because our ridiculous CRTC tries to protect Canadian content by forcing us to watch our Canadian networks and programs. Complete garbage. Fingers are always crossed for the CRTC to finally smarten up and let us watch what we have the right to watch.

Yeah, this is great, I just read the source and John Helm and Steve Banyard are excellent. The other two, I have never heard of, but still good news that at least they're not Canadian.

The bar I normally go to shows TSN because they don't want to risk angering the regulars with ESPN again.

Yeah, Julie Foudy has the keen grasp of the obvious. I had my rant on the ESPN thread
