-- Speaker feedback (Recording)
Speaker feedback (Recording)
I already have Audacity ect.. but my problem is that anytime I plug in the "line-out" into the "line-in" on my laptop I don't hear any feedback on my computer speakers, but when I go to turn on my KRKs I hear a lot of feedback.
Not really sure what could be causing this as I checked the settings on my sound card and everything appears to be normal ect.
Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?
As well -- What are the best settings for recording a mix in Audacity (levels ect.)
Thanks
So let me get this straight. When you play the audio through your laptop speakers, it's fine. However, when you connect your laptop to your monitors, there is feedback? Are you recording vinyl? Do you have a mic on?
As for levels and such, record it so that it doesn't clip!
I have my monitors plugged into the back of my mixer via RCA, the line-out from the mixer goes to a splitter which has a connection that runs from that into my laptop, as well, my computer speakers plug into the splitter.
Makes it so that I can use my computer speakers + sub + monitor speakers at the same time while mixing.
Oh and I use CDJs
If I'm reading it right, it sounds like it's an issue with the cables going into your KRKs. Are you using RCA (unbalanced) or XLR/TRS (balanced) connections? If it's RCAs, get a ground lop isolator at Radio Shack for 17 bucks and that should solve your problem. If it's balanced cables, I'm not sure.
yep they are connected via RCA.. i'll go pick one of those up.
Thanks!
