Questions about Tiesto tix at Ricoh ?

My wife and I might be heading up to Toronto for the Tiesto party at Ricoh and the Steve Lawler/Dubfire party at Guvt - that is if I can get off work. It's not Canada day for us in the US

Buying tix for Guvt is easy enough, but I'm a bit confused about the tiesto tix. I was checking on Ticketmaster canada and it seems that the GA floor tix are sold out, so that left reserved seating and standing GA.

This may be a stupid question, but is the reserved seating really reserved seating ? That sucks if we want to meet up and hang out with other friends. I'm just trying to figure out what tickets to buy.

Hope to make it up there. We've had the best time when we go to Toronto

Re: Questions about Tiesto tix at Ricoh ?

Reserved seating is basically you stay put where your ticket says and you dance in the bleachers. Yeah, like a concert, with no access to the floor. That's why there's a lot of those tickets still left.

We have a couple of threads on this topic, have a look;

Thanks for the replies. I has searched for previous threads but 9 pages back wasn't enough. The thread links did answer my question. Basically, it's not really reserved seating - it's just that you can't get down to the floor. I'm cool with that. Just didn't want to get stuck in assigned seating.
Tiesto will be a nice warm up for the night and a place to meet up with some friends. Haven't seen him in a while, especially at an all ages show. We had a good time at his shows at the Dock.
However, the main reason for us going to Toronto is for Lawler/Dubfire at the Guvt. We went to DEMF recently, so we know what's up Last time we were at Guvt it was Digweed in the main room for Labour of Love and it was awesome.

No clue who halo420 is.

A bit off toppic, but does anybody know what time Fanciulli is playing or an idea of set times ? Don't want to miss much so we're planning on leaving tiesto early.

Lol at seating...

What a fuckin joke...

there are 3 price sections for Tiesto show.

floors - GA on the floors only

reserved seating - $55 - actual assignted seats

GA seating $35 - the back section where there are seats at the venue is general admission so you can walk around that area but there are actual seats in that area as well so you will need to dance in that area.. the GA floors are the only ones available that you have full dancing ability to walk around

hope that helps..

go see the tiesto show then go over to the guvernment as tiesto ends at 3am and guvernment goes late....

Set times won't be up until the day before probably. Try to get tickets to the boat cruise on Canada Day (though they're sold out now...you may be able to find some), and then you for sure won't miss Fanculli

Thanks for the reply. So to confirm, are the $55 reserved seats being treated exactly as such or just sold as reserved seating ? I understand there are seats in the stands, but can anybody in that area sit anywhere or is it enforced that you sit in the seat that it says on your ticket. Before somebody thinks I'm an idiot for asking, realize that a lot of shows in other venues that sell tickets as reserved seating, but anybody can sit anywhere. It's just a way to sell only so many tickets in the seating area.

As for the $35 GA, what is the "back" exactly. I've looked at the seating chart and I couldn't figure it out.

Yes, thanks for the tip. I certianly did not buy the boat tix. I'm sure it would be nice - like being on the Sasha & Digweed boat for WMC. I'm probably heading back to the US that afternoon, but if not maybe I'll call in a favor and try to get on the guest list.

This tiesto ticket is becoming a headache figuring out what to buy. Might call in a favor for that as well, but I prefer not to ask if I don't really have to. Plus I'm trying to buy some tickets for some other friends as gifts - certainly couldn't get them on a guest list. It shouldn't be this hard to figure out what ticket to buy. All I really want to do is have freedom to move around the lower level stands and sit when we need to with whomever we want.

If somebody knows, is the coliseum set up as "concert end stage 180" or "concert club mode" ? Looking at the seating chart on the TM.Ca website what is the light blue shaded area ? is that the $35 GA ?

Sorry for all the questions, I didn't think it would be this hard and figured somebody from the home of TA would readily know. I should have probably called Ricoh Col.

On a more fun note, my wife and are looking forward to partying with the Canadian peeps, that is if I can get off work. It's usually a better vibe up in Canada than in the US

there is no guest list for the cruise and it's completely sold out.

Ok, Sold out. Not saying that I could for sure, but I'm sure somebody could get on the list.

it's my cruise, and trust me.. no one is getting on the list

plus we've sold every ticket possible, and you can't go over capacity on a boat.

Undertstood. You're the cruise man I guess now I have no chance of getting on that list, not that I was really planning on trying. I just figured that if the dj (ie Nic) wanted somembody on the list, it could happen. If I was really that cool, I wouldn't even need to be worried about a list...

I'm sure it will be a great party. Enjoy.

the $55 is reserved seat, you much watch the show in the seat you buy, like a normal concert

the back $35 seats are GA but you will need to stand in a seat and its first come first serve, which is why they are cheaper

hope that helps...

this entire show will sellout

no set times have been released but judging by the dj lineup in the guvernment, i would say that nic would be playing fairly early....maybe around midnight? its just a guess so dont quote me on that.

Thanks for the clear answer. So not a good idea if I buy two tickets in the reserved seating and hope to sit next to two friends that also bought tix in the reserved seating.

Does anybody know exactly where the GA $35 seats are ?

Posted by Capo di tutti on Jun-10-2008 18:19:

about 90 ft from the stage...

its a small venue. not a bad seat in the house. if you look at the website its all one level, it holds around 7 000 ppl i think.
