Uplifting trance for the soul

heres a set i did a long time ago... it's about losing connection to the important things around you and feeling like you have no place to go... but you do... and it's called trance.

download Vascog_17-02_Sorrows_of_a_Madman_192.mp3

[[ LINK REMOVED ]]

before you go and write this off as some generic random trance mix from someone you've never heard of, i'll post some reactions that people on another forum had...

"If I were a girl and you would be playing this at a party... I would most definitely take my shirt off! Just as an appreciation for your work"

"most mix sets from "unknown" artists are ok, nothing special, and no better than i could do myself.
This set is really good!
mixing is artistic and spot on
cheers!"

if you guys love trance, do yourself a favor and check out this set, satisfaction gauranteed'!!!

Ok buddy, you listen to my mix, I listen to yours, touche!

Before I dl, I'd like a tracklist

actually i think reading over a tracklist before hearing a set kind of ruins a set in many ways, it kills the element of surprise, when ur at a club seeing a dj, he's not holding up a list of tracks that he's going to play throghout the night

and i think i already heard one of your sets called ascension

I guess tis' a difference of opinions. Always good to be cognizant of other perspectives.

I've always wanted to know the names of artists and songs that caress mine ear. Be it rock, metal, hip-hop, classical, etc...I do whatever I must to obtain the track. If tis' a dj set, there is always someone that can id that track to me, but until I get it, I'm like aggressive in hunting it down. So I prefer to just know what it is to save me the time. lol.

So it depends on who the audience is. I like to display the tracks so I can help promote producers that way, and the other thing is:

If a link directs one to a full-lengthed mp3 as opposed to breaking up the individual tracks, tis' preferable to know which song is which.

That's just me

dont get me wrong, i love having a tracklist for sets too, but i take a look at them after the set is over so i can ID the tracks which blew me away and go buy them

We can have a long debate on whether zou like to add a tracklist or not, but if you add it, a lot more people will download and comment it. It is like the unwritten law (custom) of tranceaddict.

Other than that I have started to listen to your set, but not finished yet due to my lack of free time.
What I can say now is there are a lot of good tracks some nice transitions and good flow.
And a tracklist would be nice, just to know what am I listening to which is new to me.

Cheers,

Caine

ok fine you guys win, tracklist will be added when i have my external HD back later tonight

Thanks for sharing it. I'll check it out this weekend and provide feedback soon thereafter.

For others unaware, the mix is not a typical 70-80 min. mix. It's 132:10 long! Also, the MP3 has no ID3 tagging.

wtf...

Listened to your mix, well I skipped some parts, for it was about 2 hours lol. It's a nice summery atmosphere you create here and I always like that a lot. But imo you used too many 'well known' tunes in it. Some of 'em were already a bit old and some of them I'd already heard to much to enjoy listening them anymore... Tunes like #10, 12, 13, 21 to name a few. But I really liked it to hear Dave202 - Torrent again.

Anyway you created a good build-up, a lot of diverse tunes in it that all have the summery atmosphere in it. Slow progtrance in the begin and some nice banging trance in the end!
Beatmatching was good too, didn't hear any trainwecks or something.

Keep it up!

At 132 min., it was a very long mix. But as the mix went on, I was enjoying it even more. The beat-matching was smooth and clean. Nice job, but in the future, see if you can split something that large into separate CD-length mixes.
