[Group D] Spain - Russia
I don't have to open every single match thread, you know...
Spain are the favourites here. Russia has a good team, commanded by a great coach (Hiddink), but apparently they're missing the 2 best forwards (Arshavin and Pogrebnyak) so they could struggle. Match in less than 5 hours.
I don't really know what to expect from Russia, as usual.
Spain 2 - 1 Russia
1-1
I hope this is a high scoring game - got both torres and Pavlyuchenko in my ff team.
Also hope xavi can back maybe 6 or 7 goals.
if we can play well in midfield and not let the likes of Xavi and Fabregas pass I would not be surprised if it ends up in a draw
Go Guus!
This game hopefully is as entertaining or more than the netherlands game. Expect nothing but good things from spain. Hopefully el niño scores a goal.
3_1
I think guus is gonna win!
1-0 Spain
midfield battle will be crucial
If Hiddink doesnt manage to control Xavi or Iniesta Russia is going down.
the luxury, fabregas starting as a substitue...
2-0

this one is getting good
yeah it is, but just switched off the tele, must study
Great first half.... 2 goals by Villa, great set-ups by Torres and Iniesta.
The Russians are looking strong, just not as strong as Spain.
going to bed now. i hope our guys will make smth out of it and crack villa`s gel head at least
Villa
Damn allmost managed to get the scoreline right. One goal of, like yesterday
I put 5 on fernando torres for top scorer - wish it was villa now.
With greece and sweden to come I can see them scoring plenty more tho.
what a defeat : O
Viva Espaa!
I hope Spain will play the next matches so great than this.
spain : what a team!!
russia : what a shitty defence!!!! someone have to teach them how the offside trap works
Spain gives Russia a definitive lesson to the "through pass". Russia's midfield looked pretty good, missing those forwards obviously hurt them.
Spain played well, but they shouldn't get too high on themselves, this was only Russia, after all - a team that shouldn't even be in the tournament.
