noobie here!!
Hey everyone! I'm new here on Tranceaddict...I have a question I hope you all can help me with. I plan on buying some cdjs for my boyfriend... some of you know him..I dont want to say his name because its supposed to be a surprise but I'm hoping he never wanders to this side of the forums
his DJ name is Electrophile...I want the best quality cdjs I can find without spending TOO much. Any suggestions?? Thanks for the help!!
What is too much? How serious is he about DJing? How many were you looking to buy?
well I dont know much about them but I know he wanted to buy some and he needed at least 2,000. He has a talent and he has wanted them for a very long time. He has a mixer and I'm guessing I will need two of them??
get two cdj800mk3
or one cdj100mk2 (second hand) and a new cdj800mk3
Sounds like he was wanting the CDJ1000s. I think they're the best you can get. I also love the CDJ800s.
A pair of pioneer CDJ-800 MK2s will leave you cash to spare. (GC has em for like $700 apiece) Quality pieces of kit too. The next step up (CDJ-1000) would blow past your $2000 budget.
Yep, sounds like CDJ-800 mk2s, if budget is an issue.
Do you know what he has now?

It sounds like a pair of CDJ-800mk2's would be the best fit.
Damn. I wish you were my girlfriend. You're going to spend $2,000 on him for his birthday?!
now does the type of music and bassline have anything to do with which equipment I should get him? he plays really deep and hard...

If you don't get him cdj 1000's he will break up with you, as he should.

Can you give us any info about the mixer without being too obvious? Would be nice to know if its a 2 channel or more.. Incase he uses his computer/turntables for mixing as well? |
Well if he has only a mixer, get his the cdj-200s.
Those are really good especially if you don't need vinyl emulation.

I've bought most of my stuff from AGIProDJ. They had the lowest prices that I found. You'll have to do the 'request a quote' thing or whatever they call it, though.
2x CDJ-800mk2s would be your best bet in my opinion. Although if he's serious about them then maybe you should just wait until you have enough for the 1000's. Spoil him sure...
What about the CDJ-400 I think thats cheaper then the both 800 & 1000 even has usb might look at getting one for my self.
