[Group D] Russia - Greece

I don't have hope of this game being exciting....

Posted by jupiterone on Jun-14-2008 15:44:

i dont think it'll be exciting either, but russia has this. greece is going home this time

Russia 2-0

I hope Greece actually come out and try and win this game instead of camping in their own half for 80 minutes as per usual and scoring with a set-piece.

I'm hoping for a draw in the other match today so both of these will come out in attack mode needing a win.

I actually think this will be a good game and plan on watching it..... Russia should win this.

I'm a bit disappointed, this is going to be the last of the games where each group game is shown sequentially. Channel-flicking as of tomorrow me thinks.

NO!!! yeah i actually really like it, where teh games are always n at the exact same time, and if you want to, you could never miss a second of any game.

Amen to that. Greece don't deserve to progress based on their performance either tonight or last week. They look ordinary against a much more aggressive Russian side.

Greece's problem is that they are no longer a suprise package in the tournament, teams know how to play against them, and they look like they've lost their edge and motivation.

YES !!! Russia leads at half time

hope that Greece will be eliminated very soon out of the tournament

how exactly did greece win 4 years ago?

haha fuck if I know. Greece is getting their ass handed to them mostly. Russia has dominated most of the game. Lots of shots on goal for them.

how did greece qualify at all?? is that automatic since they won the last euro or what?

yes, champions are always allowed to defend their trophy on the finals.

Terrible goal tending by the Greeks. Wtf was he doing.

Not anymore, Greece had to qualify for their right to be there and defend the trophy this time. They qualified with Turkey.

Bye Greece

have to love how the holders are the only ones to go out without scoring

was quite an entertaining match but frustrating.. neither team could finish properly

I'm happy to see Russia win. I only watched the first half because I just couldn't take the game anymore.

I hope they go through and beat Sweden

Pavluchenko should've had a second at the end there. he's a good player but has no vision - plenty of times he should've passed and created a chance instead of going for it himself.

we get arshavin back for the sweden game THANK GOD! he's probably the best player on the team.

i don't think he expected Semak to chase or to have the clever overhead skill.

This was the ONE problem with the team. That fool would attack and then have 2 defenders on him and not dump to another mate to get the defenders off him or open up a shot opportunity.
