| Get Physical’s Booka Shade have given Beatportal 20 pairs of their exclusive K Swiss ‘Booka Trainers’ sneakers to give away to any Beatport users who purchase their new album ‘The Sun & The Neon Light’. Designed by Hort, the special Booka Trainers are super exclusive as only 100 pairs will ever be produced. So this is your chance to get your hands on a piece of electronic music history! Any Beatport user who purchases Booka’s new album ‘The Sun & The Neon Light’ between June 10th and June 18th will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win one of 20 pairs of Booka Trainers. |
Following the lead of the great Tiesto.

It's not uncommon in the sneaker world for artists, graphic designers, and musicians to collaborate to make sneakers. These were designed by HORT, who do most (if not all) of Booka Shade's record sleeves/cover art. These actually look good.
The Tiesto shoes look shit by comparison. Had he and Reebok actually gotten a better graphic designer to make them, they may have been able to pull it off.
MSTRKRFT did a shoe with Puma.

| Originally posted by Sadface Isn't that the point of the shoe? With only 100 being made I'd say its pretty damn exclusive. I'm not a sneakers guy, but I'd imagine any type of extremely limited, musician-artist collaboration sneakers would get marketed in a similar fashion. Collectors probably love this type of stuff, so they'll be able to charge a fortune for them. I think they're pretty cool tbh, and I can't imagine anyone who would say no to having their own super limited shoe design. |
