going back into dreams that you've woken up from
usually i have trouble restarting a dream i've woken up from, but this morning i was able to do it twice in 10 minutes. my alarm went off both times during crucial points in a really interesting dream, and i was so frustrated that i hit the snooze button and rolled back over into the same position i was sleeping in, closed my eyes tight and kept on dreaming.
i couldn't think of a more satisfying way to start my Monday. has this ever happened to you?

This happens to me plenty. The worst actually happened last week, when I kept returning to a dream that Jimmy cheated on me/broke up with me. I kept trying to phone him and his family wouldn't let me talk to him...so I'd wake up after the dream going "Thank god it wasn't real, now I'll really call him just to make sure we're cool." And I'd go right back to the dream, thinking it was real every time. This went on for a half hour I swear. Fucking awful.

Not really. Obviously it's a subconscious fear, but no, I'm not worried about our relationship or how he feels about me in the least.

Usually I'll go into sequel mode. So like I'm having a dream where there's some axe killer trying to kill me and I'll wake up and be like "wtf". Then when I go back to sleep I'm in like axe killer 2: the revenge or something. I grew to learn how to control my dreams though, so I'm never really the victim in my dreams, always the hero.
I dreamt about golf all night it was awesome
I actually had the exact same thing happen this morning, and I almost never dream.
I can sometimes go back into dreams after waking up.
Sometimes I'll even go back into unpleasant ones just so I can find out what's going to happen.

This just happened to me today. I dreamt that I was on an island with some friends, isolated from civilization. Then these people came to us and told us that soon they will kill us. The weirdest part was that they were dressed in regular civilian clothing, on this island tucked away from anyone else.
That's when I woke up. When I went back to sleep it was a continuation of that same dream, except we were fighting for our lives.
So fucked.

| Originally posted by lcid the dream that i was having this morning was so weird though. not in a bad way, but it was definitely kind of fucked up. i found out i was pregnant and Rob was really mad at me, so i kept thinking "i have to find out whose baby this is" because i figured he wouldn't have been mad if it was his baby. i was woken up at the point in the dream where i was freaking out trying to figure out what i was going to do, but as soon as i got back into the dream it was like my whole attitude changed and all of a sudden i felt like everything was going to be okay. |

I dream every single night. This happens to me every morning that I sleep past 8. Its actually pretty frustrating and exhausting. My dreams are always vivid enough that when I wake up, I dont really feel like Ive slept that well.

My weirdest dream lately...
I was some kind of FBI investigator or something, and my partner was a middle-aged Asian woman. We were investigating some guy who lived in what seemed like a cross between a natatorium (place with a big swimming pool) and a factory. When we questioned him, we saw that he had these coins with letters on the side. I took some of the coins for "evidence," but as I did so I heard a scream come from above.
Somehow I knew that the scream had come from a guy falling into a pool that had a big fan at the bottom. I ran out of the room to try and find the guy and help him. The Asian woman stayed to watch the other guy. I started to think that they were conspiring together somehow, perhaps to kill me?
Anyway, I ran up some stairs and then opened a metal door. When I opened the door, I saw nothing but open green fields and blue sky. There were some cars driving slowly along a dirt path in front of me. Suddenly my friend Chris was there beside me, and he said, "Look, they have alpacas!" That's when I noticed that there were dozens of people walking around casually, enjoying the sunny day, and most of them had alpacas on leashes walking alongside them. The alpacas looked like this guy:

Happens to me on occasion, except I start a random new dream
FYI, if you are able to re-enter a "dream" after waking from it then it is more likely a hallucination rather then a dream. Hallucinations are common in the first hour or so of sleep, dreams don't normally happens after reaching REM sleep, which generally takes 90 minutes.
i had a dream.
