[Group C] Netherlands - Romania

I don't think the dutch will throw this game

2-0 Oranje

Posted by Siesta on Jun-17-2008 15:55:

Holland B will defeat Romania with 4-0

My money's on Romania.

Posted by The_G0dfather on Jun-17-2008 16:39:

2-1

Posted by The_G0dfather on Jun-17-2008 17:16:

De Jong and Ooijer will be replaced by De Zeeuw and i think Heitinga

Posted by benni on Jun-17-2008 17:23:

there was some talk about holland planning to lose this game just to piss italy and france off

Posted by The_G0dfather on Jun-17-2008 17:29:

Van basten said they will play to win this game since he believes keeping this momentum is more important than elimlinating France and/or Italy.

Hard to say what is the best tactic since it's realistic that they face one of those two in the semis.

We will play in the following formation:

Stekelenburg
Boulahrouz, Heitinga, Bouma, De Cler
Engelaar, De Zeeuw
Van Persie, Afellay, Robben
Huntelaar

So 9 b-players, if you can call them that. I still believe we're gonna win, 3-1.

I see Jan Vinegar of Castlemilk still can't get a game, even in the reserve team. Man, we could do with a decent striker at Celtic.

Why didn't they let the Italian bitches go home

Italy and France lost against this team?

Yeah thats what i mean

So happy for Huntelaar; I hope this means that he'll be used with increasingly regularity in the later stages. And what a finish by Van Persie a la Robben Vs. France. Not as acute angle, but a beauty nonetheless. Sweden should be toast in the next stage, as I'm pretty confident they'll pull through tomorrow.

quite obviously this wasn't the same team that played against france/italy;
the romanian players seemed quite exhausted in this game...

Posted by The_G0dfather on Jun-18-2008 00:57:

like what, all of a sudden the romanians played well the past games?

they played the defensive card all they way against france and took a point

got extremely lucky against italy

and got what they deserved against the netherlands

his goal means he has scored in hios first five consecutive games with the national team, putting him in an illuster list of dutch players

the last one in the list was Neeskes back in the seventies
the rest on that list are prhistorical guys so that just proves his class once more

Posted by fcuk on Jun-18-2008 01:13:

Come on guys I bet you were worried a few times Romania could've and perhaps should've scored. But credit to Holland for the win and resting 9 players including some big names

I said it before if holland play like they have all 3 games they will beat Sweden hands down but Abracadabra can be a threat. We shall now see if Holland can really prove what there worth in the last 8 where the big boys play.

Posted by Siesta on Jun-18-2008 08:45:

Ooijer will eat Abacadabra like meat!

Posted by Frenkieee on Jun-18-2008 09:43:

Or else Boulahrouz will!

Boula! Boula!
