[Deep House?] demo of my latest tune
This is just a quick run through ableton arranging on the fly so there are errors here and there. I also want to work on the stab sound as its a bit annoying I think. I may update the sounds once I get my hardware synth next week

Any thoughts/suggestions are welcome.
Thanks
I think this needs a lot of work even in preliminary stages. Get that Kick and bass dynamic up there for a deep track. Use compression/maximizers to boost the levels. Throw away that stab its not very good, try using chorus to spread the sound. That resonance lead puzzles me but so does this track. For a track that long there isnt a lot of content and structure, try having greater builds between sections. i realize this was "on the fly". should still be mixed , mastered after.
Yep. I must admit that it's got disaster written all over it. The stab sound is quite bad imo...maybe you should try some other sound instead..
i think you should listen to more deep house
this is dreadful (literally, gives me feelings of dread), almost a funerary piece - no depth here at all..
the best advice i can give would be to just listen to more deep house, if you want to make deep house, that is. if this is what you want to produce, then you're going to have to call it prog house or something. (you can click the link in my sig for listening examples)
reminds me of ace of bass for some reason
i could see this having some kind of verse-driven vocal in its current state lol.
it's a beautiful life, oh oh oh oh.... it's that raised chord at the end of the progression
seriously though, your synths are canned and tinny, there's no power or soul or expression, it's just a the same loop over and over again. reeks of ableton scene. maybe the hardware will help a bit, but you need to inject some life into this, some variation. i would throw out that chord progression or else extend it to be 2 or 4 times as long so it doesnt repeat so much and becomes more of a melodic line.
you need a real bassline, don't just copy the synth piano roll. try to make it separate yet complementary to the synth. the harmonized bass + lead was old in the early 90s.
are you happy with this?
