Euro 2008 Dream Team

2 Weeks in ... 5 Teams left ... I couldn't wait until the tournament was over so I'm going to start a thread on it now!

So, 4-4-2 formation, who would your top 11 players be so far that have impressed you most? You can also have 3 subs.

Euro 2008 Dream Team
--------------------

Van Der Sar (Hol)

Anyukov (Rus) Servet (Tur) Pepe (Por) Zhirkov (Rus)

Deco (Por) Modric (Cro) Sneidjer (Hol) Podolski (Ger)

Villa (Spa) Arshavin (Rus)

Subs : Boruc (Pol) , Ballack (Ger), Torres (Spa)

I think the pace of the premier league would suit his game right down to the ground in England. Great Player though, not someone I'd heard of up until this tournament. I can see him going for at least 8 - 10 mil.

Artur Boruc goalkeeper, that is all

It's weird how all the good players this Euro are from the same positions. Left backs and attacking midfielders specially.

So far I'd say these are the candidates for the dream team:

Keeper: Van der Sar/Buffon/Pletikosa/Boruc/Lobont (and Demirel in the first two games, against Czech he was crap)

Left-back: Zhirkov/Pranjic/Van Bronckhorst

Right-back: Lahm

Centre-backs: Pepe.. alone. Haven't seen any other impressive centre-back.

Defensive midfielder: De Jong/Marcos Senna

Attacking midfielder: Deco/Sneijder/Modric/Iniesta

Wingers: Srna/Sionko/Arda Turan/Podolski/Cristiano Ronaldo/Kuyt

Forwards: Villa/Arshavin/Nihat/Ibrahimovic/Pavlyuchenko

Van Der Sar

Lahm Puyol Pepe Gio

Xavi De Jong Iniesta

Robben Villa Van Persie

Maybe not the most balanced team (de jong makes up sligtly) but hey it's a dreamteam

What team? i don't know any rumor about this player. i know Monchi, sport manager of Sevilla loves Zirianov...

My team:

Van der Sar

Corluka -Pepe - Puyol - Anyukov

Xavi - Deco - Sneijder - Senna

Torres/Pavlyuchenko - Villa

ohh i was just saying that because it seems the likely destination for good performing russian players.

I'll just take holland's squad with robben and van persie instead of some other two

Why does everyone pick van der sar as the goalie? Casillas has been the best goalie for a year or 2 imo. Not to mention the brilliant game he had today.

But he owns la liga when it comes to goalies.

When it comes to Euro 2008, Boruc or gtfo.

Same reason everyone was choking on the Dutch team's collective cock.

because van der sar was brilliant till the end but my favourite goalkeeper is Iker. He's the best and Spanish!! And he's madridista like me

Nah, I wouldn't have Casillas in my team, even on the bench. Apart from a couple of decent saves last night, he hasn't really done enough of note throughout the tournament to warrant a place in the dream team either.

He also had a howler when he let Ibrahimovic's shot go under his gloves for a goal in the Sweden match. Still Van Der Saar and Boruc all the way for me.

I would of put Lahm in there, but he predominantly plays at left-back, even though he's a right footer, and Zhirkov has been more impressive imo.

My final dream team:

code:
-----------Arshavin----------Villa------------ ------Sneijder------Deco-------Iniesta-------- -----------------Marcos Senna----------------- Zhirkov------Pepe------Chiellini--Sergio Ramos -------------------Casillas-------------------

Bench:

Buffon
Van Der Sar
Boulahrouz
Pranjic
Puyol
Marchena
De Jong
Xavi
Schweinsteiger
Podolski
Modric
Pavlyuchenko
Van Nistelrooy

Whatever team doesnt have sergio ramos and iker fails.

2 big names of the euro cup.
