VAZ with Fruity ---- How do you work it?!

ok, i got VAZ from this cool guy i know, but i cant seem to get the sequencer to work properly in fruity.

I press play on pattern in fruity and it makes loads of random beeps, yet i have not inputted any notes into the sequencer...

Anyone help?
