He Was a Quiet Man, aka: Something Decent From Hollywood

This received almost no publicity from what I can remember. Picked this up from Blockbuster on a whim tonight, mostly because it had William H. Macy in it which automatically makes it full of win.

I wouldn't necessarily call it fantastic, but it was somewhere between 'good' and 'great.' Far better and more original than a lot of what is out there right now, and I really enjoyed Christian Slater's performance. It jumps around a bit and was somewhat predictable at points, but not enough to where it would detract points from the film. Oh, and for those of you more interested in Elisha Cuthbert than anything, her boobs are indeed very nice.

8/10

I was wondering if CS was still doing movies. I would have sex with him.

saw this back when it came out. it was quite a good movie. one of the better ones i've seen as of late. i think that that's why no one has heard of it.

i'm guessing, by the name of the title and picture; that it's about a guy who goes crazy and kills people, and like everyone says, "but he was such a quiet guy" and everyone else is like, "yeah, he always kept to himself" and the whole time you're watching it you're thinking, "wtf that's what they ALWAYS say"

Bob Maconel (Christian Slater, "Bobby," "True Romance") is about to have a bad day. Another eight hours of sitting in a dull grey cubicle, ignored by his co-workers, existing in a world where he feels completely out of sync. On this particular bad day Bob crosses the line from potential killer to inadvertent hero and in the process saves Vanessa's (Elisha Cuthbert, "The Girl Next Door, TV's 24) life. This invisible nobody saves the object of his desire only to have her ask him to end her life.

close, but not really. its a much more in depth than that and the guy doesn't kill anyone. check it out, you shouldn't be dissapointed.

Watched this like half a year ago. Amazing, Cuthbert and Slater did a great job. And I was so fucking pissed that it wasn't a happy ending, I found it almost hard to breath for half an hour
Edit: Kind of like The Girl Next Door (which I LOVE) rly, Elisha hooks up with a loser again and changes his life :]]

Most excellent movies aren't advertised, or publically known. Ever notice that?

skip "sunshine" and stick with this one. the utter lack of respect for physics of any kind made me wish death upon the creators of "sunshine"

Yeah, I found it to be an enjoyable movie. Scientifcally, some of it just didn't add-up, but I don't need everything to 'add-up' to enjoy it. I watched it to be entertained and that's what I got.

Awesome soundtrack too

I'd recommend it.

meh, it was ok. The story got a bit boring at times. The ending was a tad wank and I felt somewhat of a clich cop out.

I was expecting a bit more. It was alright.

Also saw the movie a few days ago. I thought Christian Slater did a good job portraying the character. It did run get a bit dry at times, but it was well done overall. Overall, it was an enjoyable movie.
Thanks for the heads up people.
