[Review] Tiesto Outdoors in Hartford, CT
Wow, what an incredible and sucky night all in one. To start things off, this event was poorly staffed and seemed to be thrown together at the last minute. We got there at 8ish, expecting a reasonable line to get in, but it took over an hour to get in, which would be that bad, but then you had to wait another 30 min or to get a drink wrist band. And then once you got the wrist band, you had to go wait in another line to get drink tickets and a finally, go wait in line to get a drink.
I found out waiting in line that the doors didnt open till 7:30, and that they skipped Randy Boyer and Kered and Kiraly. So Second Sun started it off. From what i heard/saw of them standing in line, it was pretty good.
Dave Dresden started at 9:30 and played till 11. Decent set, def slowing things down at the end for tiesto to take over.
Tiesto came on an hour late at 11. But this is when everything turned around for the better. Tiesto threw down a redic set
He started off with his opening track of isos 7 and that was as fluffly as he got in the entire night. He just threw down bomb after bomb after bomb. I didnt stop dancing the entire night! There was no lighting or any other visuals, which i thought sucked at first, but it was really nice actually. All the focus was on the music, not the performace. Proof of that was that I saw only 2-3 jesus poses....must be a record of some sort.
crowd was meh, a lot of meat heads and people dressed as if they were at a club, but no major problems.
Tracks I remember, more to come:
Bells of Tinanmen square
Majai - Phoria (elevation remix)
that's a shame 'cause last year's event was a model of efficiency and good planning. the switch to 18+ would appear to be the culprit.
Actually the switch to 18+ wasn't the reasoning for all the dilemma. If you look in the other thread for Tiesto Outdoors, Bora actually explains what happened. I'm tired of everyone trying to blame the 18-20 yr old crowd for everything. Especially hearing it from some guy standing behind me in line when I'm 19 and I sure as hell am not the reason for the delay.
But I definitely enjoyed the night. Dresden was a little slow for my taste here and there, but his set was definitely good. And Tiesto, oh wow, his set was ridic!! I seriously don't think I ever stopped dancing! And there were quite a few times that I just fucking went all out and danced as hard as I could. Loved the new stuff he played, loved the hard stuff he was playing towards the end of his set. All in all, well worth the 7 hour drive from VA. The organization of the lines could've been better but I understand it was probably real hectic with all the issues that went wrong prior to opening the doors. Can't wait to see Tiesto again in DC on Sunday!
Oh plus some more tracks:
Jerry Ropero feat Cozi - The Storm (Inpetto Remix)
Cary Brothers - Ride (Tisto Remix)
Dokmai - Reason To Believe
....that's all I can think of at the moment. My brain is fried from driving all day then having to go to class as soon as I got back home

Shittt I kind of wish I made it out for this. I live like 30 min. away. When did it end?
It ended at 1AM...Kinda early for my taste but it was still a good show. Probably a good thing it ended at 1 bc I had a 7 hr drive ahead of me and had to be back by 6 for class :P If it was any later I wouldn't have made it.
