QUICK - NERO Burning Question ...For NERO Users ?????????????????????????????????
jus a quick question for NERO users...
i am backing up some live sets as Data on CD...and i am using 700MB CDs not CDRW but CDR.....
now i just backed up like 10 sets on 1 CDR and before the burn-process started ..NERO told me that there is not enough space on the CDR for the burn (because it was a little over 700MB)...but NERO then said it can be burned if the CDR is FINALIZED...
i clicked YES FINALIZE the CDR...and the burn-process went though fine...i double checked the sets and everything seems ok....
but my question is this...
What does FINALIZE mean?...is that for if u are using a CDRW not a CDR for data and it means that if it is FINALIZED that u wont be able to write back or edit the CD???...thats what i think it means..but i wanna make sure...
thanks......

nero askes me to finalise my cd-r's even when i put 500 megs on it
always finalize!
e.g with audio CDs
dont finalize, uve wasted a nice cd-r
Well the only way to fit a little over 700mb is too finalise.
So it had to be done.
Then cd is full, and u cant add anymore to it
Nero automatically makes a cd multi session, or atleast should with default settings, so you can add stuff to the cd after wards, by continuing a multi-session
ok cool...
i just wanted to make sure BEFORE i deleted the sets i backed-up off my HD.....i just didnt know if it affected the MP3s or not...
thanks again...

Remember that each (multi)session takes about 30 mb extra. So if you want to use all 700 megs, don't use multisession, and then you'll be able to burn up to 703 mb.
overburn in in file->prefs
to be simple, overburning is burning more than what the cd is claimed to be. If your cd suppose to fit 700mb, but you want to fit 710mb, you can do overburn to fit the 10mb. Nero does the job, but only if your burner supports it. Finalizing will just make sure nothing else could be added!
