OGP - Tones (July '08 Mix) - [Progressive/Deep House]

Over the past few years here at TA I've met a lot of talented people like RJT, bas, Clovis, cmay119, lcid, nefardec, Sushipunk, Tenshi, and many others who have inspired me to take a shot at what a few years ago seemed if not impossible, at least beyond my abilities.

Your talent, hard work and determination is what finally inspired me to believe in myself, get up of my lazy ass, make a mix of my own and have a shitload of fun while doing so.

Now, on to the mix itself...

This is a nice compilation of what I've been listening very recently and a few old tracks here and there (no rare undiscovered gems here, lol). Music-wise it grabs from what Desyn Masiello, Rowan Blades, and Luke Fair (oh surprise! lol) sound and as you can see, there's also lots of Paul Keeley too!

Please give it a listen if you've got some time and let me know what you think. All criticism is welcome!

Tracklist:
01. Jay Lumen feat Nina Simone - Feeling Good (New Dawn Dub) [Not On Label]
02. Jaytech - Solero [Anjunadeep]

04. Liluca - Naam (Paul Keeley Remix) [Discoteca Music]

12. Claes Rosen - I Want (Paul Keeley Remix) [Brown Eyed Boyz]

Liking this a lot so far Woscar. I'm about 20 Minutes in. Progression so far has had a nice constant build to it.

I'm going to bed right now though. I'll have a more thorough review for you tommorow when I finish it.

Nice job, and I like the artwork.

Hahahaha! I must have gotten you mixed up with someone else, I could've sworn I had downloaded a mix by you some time ago though!

Thanks for listening!

Alright, I just finished this mix.

Let me first tell you that you did a wonderful job with track selection on this mix. All tracks are great and you sequenced them in a way that had a very nice constant flow & build to the mix. Volume control & EQ'ing I also thought was on point. And I must say that opening track is just delicious.

You only had a couple minor beatmatching slip ups here & there, but they weren't enough to make me lose interest in the mix. Also the trackselection allowed me to quickly get over any mistakes since I knew another solid track was coming in.

How long have you been mixing for woscar?

Good job on this buddy, and I look forward to your next one.

Oh, and thank you for the kind words in the initial post, even though I don't think I should be included in that list.

Thanks for listening and the review!

You are absolutely correct about the beatmatching slips, when I was mixing it it didn't seem that evident but then when I heard the finished thing after uploading it I heard them, lol.

I've been playing around for quite some time now, probably for a year or so, doing some spontaneous mixes on my spare time and fooling around but I had never done anything serious until this mix.

Hopefully I'll get better at it and do more mixes more often.

Also, don't be too hard on yourself! I've heard some of your mixes and they are all great in every way. With the risk of sounding way too gay, you are a big reason why I decided to finally do this. Keep 'em coming!!!
