Lightbulb how many BPM ???

to my mind, more 140 kills trance tunes...I prefer about 136-137...and you, what do you think?

Posted by Jocker on May-20-2002 21:05:

i think 140 is great

and during the live set - aroun 145.

Posted by davinox on May-20-2002 21:07:

150 or so AT LEAST... well...for MY atomixmp3 hard-trance livesets.

i don't really care, whatever works for me track.

Posted by El~ZaPo on May-20-2002 21:19:

Anywhere from 135-145.

from 120-145...lol...big range...i love songs @ 128ish...or 140ish...hehehe...odd i know...lol...

Posted by capricorn15 on May-20-2002 21:51:

anywhere between
135 and 165, but 165 is for my old school hard trance vinyls, that at 0% pitch are already 155 or 160

Talking

145-146 is fine for me

Posted by attacc on May-20-2002 22:04:

I don't care about bpm as long as the track is phat. Maybe if I was a dj I would think different..I dunno

140 or 145. depends on the mood

Posted by mr. poopyhead on May-20-2002 23:21:

ever since i started listening to hard trance sets, especially dj dawn's sets, anything below 140 sounds SOOO SLOW...

Posted by IronDragon on May-21-2002 00:26:

130-140 for more uplifting, melodic and 140-150 for more hard.

Posted by DJ_ALFA on May-21-2002 00:36:

at leaast 137, music slower than that doesn't move me

Exactly.
You know, people consider 140 BPM to be pretty darn fast, but in my experience (I'm an amateur DJ) even 140 is a little slow! I find that the energy is much better starting at around 141-142.

And like DJ_ALFA said, anything below 137 is pretty boring. I have a mix by Talla 2XLC mixed at 135 BPM, and although the music is good (and it's great to listen to), there's just not enough excitement for dancing!

Posted by Serp on May-21-2002 03:22:

spinning trance at around 145bpm can put a heap more energy into your set, just listen to ferry corten live at trance enery 30-04-2000!

Posted by Kirby on May-21-2002 18:06:

Just a minute...

I'm going to check right now...the particular song I'm listening to now embodies it well...I think my taste is a little bit faster than normal, I mean, at least as far as dancing is concerned, I like pretty fast so it's almost aerobically hard to dance to. Then again, slower trance like iio - rapture (armin van buuren mix) can be the greatest stuff ever...but I tend to like the faster mixes of things. My favorite dancing trance bpm is...

::counting::

140-150, ah I guess it wasn't so much faster after all...

Posted by Astronaut on May-21-2002 19:36:

anything from 125 - 148 depends on my mood.
the deep & dark house tracks sounds good at 125-135 & the tracks with more melody & energy are better at higher BPM

Posted by Raptor on May-21-2002 19:45:

200

Posted by Kirby on May-21-2002 19:45:

The fastest song I know happens to be 320 bpm, just thought I might add that because it's interesting (though rather unpleasant)...

thats not even music

Posted by Kirby on May-21-2002 19:51:

You're right, it happens to be a simpsons gabber parody song...

Posted by JJ-T1 on May-21-2002 21:37:

below 140bpm is not danceable, it won't kick your ass
Paul Oakenfold - Southern sun (DJ Tisto remix) original bpm was so slow that i'd to pitch it up above 140.

Posted by ClubHarder on May-21-2002 22:24:

Dancing Dude

I'm a sucker for anything at 142 n above

Posted by rowzbay on May-21-2002 22:32:

140 to 150 bpm is good for my tech-trance and hard-trance.
