How do you prefer your bananas?

I enjoy them best when they possess the following: 1.) body of the peel as yellow and blemish free as possible and 2.) just a hint of green at the top where you break that bad boy open.

Brown and squishy is right out! Green and crunchy...well, that speaks for itself, too.

the worst state in the life of a banana is the type when you try to peel it, but the dry green walls kling to the flesh of the fruit, making the walls break. pieces of the wall is forged onto the now moist, exposed eatable part making any ingestion result in a thin dry layer with a foul taste, covering a large portion of the tongue and mouth roof.

i like my bananas just like you do.

"The banana we eat today is not the one your grandparents ate. That one known as the Gros Michel was, by all accounts, bigger, tastier, and hardier than the variety we know and love, which is called the Cavendish. The unavailability of the Gros Michel is easily explained: it is virtually extinct. Introduced to our hemisphere in the late 19th century, the Gros Michel was almost immediately hit by a blight that wiped it out by 1960. The Cavendish was adopted at the last minute by the big banana companies Chiquita and Dole because it was resistant to that blight, a fungus known as Panama disease... [Now] Panama disease or Fusarium wilt of banana is back, and the Cavendish does not appear to be safe from this new strain, which appeared two decades ago in Malaysia, spread slowly at first, but is now moving at a geometrically quicker pace. There is no cure, and nearly every banana scientist says that though Panama disease has yet to hit the banana crops of Latin America, which feed our hemisphere, the question is not if this will happen, but when. Even worse, the malady has the potential to spread to dozens of other banana varieties, including African bananas, the primary source of nutrition for millions..."

tempura style with ice cream and chocolate syrup (at most japanese restaurants).

banana's foster which i make so well. butter & brown sugar melt in a pan, add bananas and fry them...add some brandy and light on fire. serve over vanilla ice cream.

I like mine when there is no green left on the peel but before it starts to get squishy and nasty

sprinkled with brown sugar, flame grilled or flambeed, and drizzled with chocolate sauce & served with vanilla ice cream.

Or in Custard

bananas foster is so easy to make and it always impresses everyone. i always bust it out when i'm in charge of desert for a dinner party or get together that involves smoking pot. lol

u dont even need the brandy, it can be rum too. or u can just forget the alcohol part and melt the butter and brown sugar until it turns into caramel and just fry the bananas in that alone.

Yeah, but I'm sure the brandy/rum/fire part is what impresses people the most. Nothing like a cheap trick to entertain house guests.
