i wouldn't invite that comparison. haha but guess what man, dubstep (like minimal) has been around for ages and i know you've been a fan of drum and bass and can probably add more to this than i can.

speaking of which, i have some really cool dj spooky records that you might enjoy. they are old (mid 90s?) - some seefeel and aphex twin in there aswell.

Apparently it's been around a long time and a lot of it sounds like trip hop and down/midtempo to me - I can rarely just hear something and go "Oh, that's dubstep."

I don't know. Just seems a wide range.
