Can Anybody Get Me a Deal on Something at IKEA?

Quick question for the TOTAs.

I am planning on buying a new desk soon. This morning I made my way over to IKEA and saw a desk that I think will suit my purposes but it's a little hefty in price. I'm curious to see if anybody on these forums works at or knows somebody who works at IKEA (the one on The Queensway is, I think, the closest location to my house) and could help me save 15% (or maybe more?) on the purchase price.

Thanks in advance

Do you have any good Native friends???

If you ask nicely, they may go with you and let you use their status card...

If you can't afford the IKEA desk, maybe look around for a used one?

+1

I just bought a used Ikea desk for my setup recently for $100 and I'm extremely happy with it. Its the "Jerker" line which they don't carry in the store anymore...but at the time, it used to go for >$200 if I remember correctly.

i used to check craigslist every now and then until I finally found someone selling it

Are you enjoying the jerker?

Posted by Engine9 on Jun-27-2008 16:17:

looks like you are going to have to head to home depot, buy some wood and build a desk yourself

Stop going to clubs if you're having touble paying for a desk at IKEA, change is in order.

Nick, check Craigslist for the desk, tons of IKEA stuff there

Posted by Cosmic Fur on Jun-27-2008 16:27:

He's got a point. If an IKEA desk is out of your price range, you ahve to look at where all your disposable income is going.

Although that's making an assumption that Nick has a disposable income.

Thanks for the replies everybody.

And as for clubbing too much...Ha! I probably go out less often than 90% of people on these boards (and when I do go out, the vast majority of the time I don't spend more than $50.00). I simply thought somebody on here may work at IKEA--it never hurts to see if you can get yourself a deal

Don't roll your eyes retard, it was a joke.

Seriously, Ikea's not cheap enough?

Check out craigslist if price is that much of a concern.
