hello again,
hot summer days just don't seem to end (atleast here in finland)
here is my newest production. its a nice melodic trance choon wich i think could be realistic to hear for example in an ASOT mix (i'm so full of my self m'kay). what do you people think?

2. direct download 1 (160kbps): [[ LINK REMOVED ]]
3. direct download 2 (320kbps): click here (the download limit is a pain but try to grab this for the HQ version)
4. if the links don't work or file was deleted etc. send me a pm and i will send you a direct link for a working file.

and the rendering was a pain aswell.. every third time it came out as clean song without glitches..got to get a new pc perhaps -.-
There's progressive trance, progressive trance with sidechain, and then there's sidechain trance. Some fall into a hybrid of the three depending on the track structure and whether or not one DJ will drop it over another.
This is prog-but-99.9%-sidechain-trance with a touch of sidechain. I love the sidechain, don't get me wrong in the slightest.
However, if I could give this track a color, it would be silver and white. There's so much sheering, blinding treble in the mix that the bassline really sticks out well even though it is not very well defined. Okay, that's a bad hyperbole, but the sidechain maximization made the treble feel like bubbles rising up and down; up and down in the shell of my cranium bouncing like a sharp carbon-fizz overload.
Searingly jumping a razor's edge... but the track ended up sounding pretty 'hip' at the same time.
Believe me, I do love sidechain in EDM... I just love to
TEASE the USE of IT

I liked the start. Nice atmospheric sounds.
But the tune lacks
-Good mixing
-Low and mid frequencies, even on headphones it lacks warmth..
-Variation
The main melody is a Menno de Jong recycled sound which i really dislike as main themes unless composed well.
Hope that helps

It takes guys years to build a track like this, I actually like it very much. With critisism you'll have to wait till I'm in the studio again, that I'll give it a listen on my monitors. |
