Hobbes - I'll be picking him up in 2-3 weeks

Well in the other post a few people mentioned petfinder, and I did try them out. I filed several applications, but I never got any responses; apparently, there is huge demand for these dogs and they do a thorough backround check - meaning they will visit your home and such, which I thought was abit much... but in any case, no responses despite several attempts.

In any case, I found her from a breeder in houston through a friend, so I'll be flying down there soon enough to pick her up. She was born May 14th, so when I pick her up she'll be between 8 and 9 weeks - just old enough to be permitted to fly with me.

Now I just need to find a pet-friendly apartment considering I am moving out by the end of July

The fact that you have to find a pet friendly apt for Hobbes is the reason why pet finder couldn't accommodate you. Good luck with the pup though Dave and there is always room on our ranch until you get yourself situated for the puppy..

Awww what a tiny little thing. Does he fit in your pocket? LOL
Out of curiosity any special reason for the name Hobbes, or was he already named that?

I named her

You know with all the chicks who responded to this thread maybe I can score a date despite the fact that I have no game

So cute! Glad to hear you found a breeder. Usually one of the most important things is that your home allows you to have a pet, so you lucked out.
Congrats! He'll be a good friend to you
If you're looking for apartments already, usually one of the first things they tell you is if they let you bring pets or not. Where are you looking to move? Especially in Brooklyn, it's usually OK if it's a small pet. Just make sure you take him to obedience school and everything will be just fine.
Good luck!

You won't need any game. Cute Kids and dogs FTW.

Still very very true... you should consider it for the super ultimate room! I'm moving out soon, and when I do, I am 100% percent getting a Siamese, a furry fuzzy fluffy baby kitten...

On a side note, my roommate just got two chinchillas, who decided to take an extremely loud dust bath at 4am last night. We now have: 9 rats, two chinchillas, and one bunny.

Thanks! I don't know where I'm moving to yet. I work out in weehawken NJ so theres the temptation to move there. All my friends are LI/NYC though so I'd like to stay around here. Really if I could find a place in rego park that would be dish, but I am really cheap so chances are you might find me and hobbes cuddled up in the corner of your local starbucks.

My husband and I have been looking for apts, and you would be surprised with what there is out there. Bedstuy and Bushwick are looking really good (called now Cobble Hill, East Williamsburg, etc), we are going with a one-bedroom we found in Bedstuy for 950, so if you look hard enough, you'll find something worth looking into. If you look further down like in Bensonhurst, you might be even able to find a one-bedroom for about 800.
