why does it need a genre exactly?

just make music, man.

Those people are usually idiots.

Posted by adi_hanson on Jul-01-2008 19:43:

those idiots keep telling me its not 'in there sound roster' and to try someone more genre specific

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Jul-01-2008 19:47:

Who are you trying to please, them or yourself?

Posted by adi_hanson on Jul-01-2008 19:51:

oh be gone with it ,i cant carry on!!!

ive sent it to a few labels some small ,some big and all have been replying that its not within there sound base , roster , and label releases among other things but all liked it and were very sorry

so if i could narrow down its genre i could aim a bit better

so the genre you give to a track decides the quality and whether it gets signed? um no

again, the genre is irrelevant

it's common sense.

if you music that sounds like X, don't send it to a label that puts out Y

i got that yes , but the whole purpose is that even though i didnt produce the tune to any particular genre or X in your case , i need guideance to the home of X music and i hoped you lot could guide me through a sea of A to Z music labels to that so far elusive X harbour

Posted by Speactra on Jul-01-2008 21:33:

Why do you send this to labels anyway? It lacks structure and it doesnt sound good. Try to arrange it better, and work some more with the synths and drums. You need to evolve more before you start sending stuff to labels. Would you buy this tune?
With time you know what you're doing, and what music it is you create.
Sorry to say it, but someone has to

no its cool but i wouldnt put my best sounding copy on youtube , its compression can ruin a track anyway , i put it on purely for feedback as its a near rough copy , and like you said i have worked on it , masteringly and structurely and before you ask no , i am not putting it up here just yet

its not just the sound mate... your lines and ideas sound dull and uninspired to me, it just isn't musical enough... but thats my opinion...

Posted by muravei on Jul-06-2008 18:20:

Dunno

It sounds rubbish....you should spare the labels by not sending them such filth..really sorry mate, but you honestly can't think that it sounds any good?

Posted by adi_hanson on Jul-06-2008 23:13:

vortex thank you for the feedback ,and BTW it is a rough , very rough youtube trial of the general anthems and arps. All the percs are unmastered ,EQ'ed and un finished and muravei , please comment on tunes nearer your own style,as this is very different to your music which unfortunatly bored me to death , as with all minimal music.

and p.s they are not replying saying ' how dare you send us such filth'

minimal? care to elaborate?

Posted by adi_hanson on Jul-06-2008 23:31:

last part wasnt aimed at you , the user muravei , i was on about

Posted by G-Con on Jul-07-2008 10:37:

1998-2000 Hard trance would be my opinion.

I do think it needs some work though if you want to send it off and I'm not in anyway refering to the technical aspects of the production but the actual arrangement and composition needs work.
