What kind of music do they play at your gym?

But not headphones

Posted by Ygrene on Jul-01-2008 20:02:

No music. Just manly grunts.

minimal trash tech electro

Just joined a gym Direct? Mine plays your typical pop playlists with some oldies thrown in for the older crowd, but 99% of the peeps have headphones on anyway. If I had to listen to the shit they play my workouts would suffer.

Eurodance and, occasionally, grindcore

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Jul-01-2008 20:16:

Country and mainstream rap.

They started off playing this XM station called BPM which plays pop-dance and have djs that scasm and rub one off for Robbie Rivera. The only reason they had this station on was because it got the one trainer that doesn't work there any more (whom I called Technoviking because he looked just like him only more topheavy) "super pumped up."

Then they moved on to some R&B/Rap/Pop channel. Then for some reason they had an 80's fortnight or something and now they are back to the same rap channel.

No. But I did activate a 1 month pass 2 weeks ago and have been going 4-5 times a week. This morning the front desk girl told me that I exceeded my visits even though it was a 1 month pass. But she didnt care she still let me workout.

A bit of everything, mostly commercial house or whatever is on the local radio station.

Posted by Omega_Blue on Jul-01-2008 21:40:

silence

Posted by noikeee on Jul-01-2008 22:16:

MTV
Reggaeton
The shittiest "dance" music ever made during the 90s (think Aqua, Cartoons and Vengaboys)

And then the owner gets all when I turn it down so I can listen to all my proper untz untz untz in my mp3 player in peace.

my gym plays all the ASOT's and heard ISOS6 in there a few times.. if not trance they play house

lifting to trance is bliss

Posted by tachobg on Jul-02-2008 01:23:

gymnastics gyms are usually shared by the men's and women's teams (which has its obvious benefits), but it is a well known fact that the women in the gym are louder and much bitchier about their music preferences - (god forbid you play something they don't like!) so it's usually their music that gets played. In my gym, it's all country music - and the same 5 fucking songs too, usually about some guy's pickup truuuuuuck or some shit. so annoying to work out to

Posted by Darkarbiter on Jul-02-2008 03:44:

70% pop rock
25% house
5% epic trance none of the a grade stuff though (definitely not eurodance though).

It's really weird to hear two epic trance songs in a row then get some emo rock song. The playlist bot is retarded, and fuck they don't even think we're worth lossless (they buy their shit off iTunes... not that I like the music anyway so it doesn't matter). Maybe I might just see if I slip some decent sets in (a pleasant fantasy).

our base gym only plays Rock. and its only in the weight lifting area, thank God. but everytime i lap around it on the upstairs gym, i'll usually hear metallica or white snake, and i'm like, .

just bought the mp3 player capitalizt pointed out on amazon. so i'm stoked about getting my own music, finally.

I would love to find a decent gym that plays no music at all. Much better that way.

My vision of a perfect gym also has no people in it.

Except a Chris Benoit punching bag hanging inconspicuously from one of the machines.
