Buying a mixer

Hey guys,

So I am in the market for a mixer. I am looking for a multi channel mixer with midi control capabilities. I was checking out the Xone:3d but the price is a little steep. Hows the Xone:42? or the Ecler Evo 4??

Any help would be great...

I read your thread about the Ecler... I am leaning that way, though I dont know if I will ever get what the xone:3d offers, in terms of midi control for traktor etc...

the 3d is overrated, the soundcard sucks and it's an old version of usb which is quite slow. also the layout is not very good as well. if you would go that route you should def get the 4d

also both the evo 4 and evo 5 have more than enough control for traktor. the big difference is the evo 5 has a built in soundcard but the evo 4 has dual effects sections which are really cool to.

theres no way i would go for the 4d, way too expensive... Are there any other options for me? Pioneer??? The Evos sound pretty awesome though.

What exactly do you need as far as MIDI control?

I bought a Nuo4 a few years ago because I wanted 4 channels and MIDI to use with Traktor. You can switch the middle two channels (EQs, gain, faders, FX send/return, cue) to MIDI and map them to two decks in Traktor, and the middle strip of four infinite rotary knobs with push and four push buttons can be mapped to various things (filter parameter control, deck control, etc).

Also, if I recall correctly, most of the Pioneer DJM-800 can send MIDI events as well, but I don't think there are any dedicated infinite rotary knobs or extra buttons available to be assigned.

Another factor for the Nuo4 purchase was it's low price. It can be had for less than US$750. I'm pretty pleased with mine, and am eying an Evo4. Maybe. =P
