ID&T was a rebelious hardcore party organization/gabber label founded by 2 brothers and one other guy (Irvin, Duncan and Theo)

They released the famous Thunderdome series, and were the people behind Mysteryland and Thunderdome parties.

Only Duncan stayed in the company after the successes of 1993-1997
In 1998, ID&T became one hell of a commercial shitty piece of crap!
This was just after Duncan sold his shares to a big record company . He still was in control, but the influence of 'the big guys' was getting too much.

In 2001, Miles Stutterheim died (the brother of Duncan). He drove his Porsche against a tree after using cocaine.

ID&T used to be underground, but now they only think of money. After gabber died in 1998, ID&T has to leave hardcore because there wasnt money left to earn. So now they're into trance.

Damn shame to see what happened with the spirit of underground.
Damn shame how they ask 68 euro for a Sensation ticket
Damn shame how they dont want to be associated with gabbers anymore(they even changed the wizard logo)
Damn shame!

ps: I've seen it all happen from 1992 (Mysteryland Rotterdam, to the happy hardcore hype in 1995, the big parties in 1997 etc etc)

People who only know ID&T frommwhat they done in trance (innercity/sensation) are not aware of the history

If there is one example of the bad influence of commerce in electronic music (music over spirit), it sure is ID&T.

BTW Germands know what happened to the Loveparade since 1997. Same story.

wow ! i never knew that, GODSPEED to them 2

Posted by Dave_Masters on May-21-2002 19:11:

so are u not gonna but their releases because of the history of the company?

It personally doesnt bother me about the History, all that matters to me is that they are releasing AMAZING tunes at the moment and have a good radio and have well descent line-ups.

They are one of the biggest trance labels around, and i wouldnt say that their releases are commercial by any means, ian van dahl = commercial, marco v = not commercial.

Could we call it Hollands Ministry Of Sound..?

Posted by Vman on May-21-2002 20:22:

I hered some promo's from ID&T recently and their new releases will be very underground.

Posted by jp on May-21-2002 21:01:

Sorry guys you just dont get it:

ID&T is responsable for the death of a entire gabber movement in Holland

Never ever in my life they will make money from me!

The spirit is gone.

ID&T makes a profit over the backs of all those partypeople that made the company. In 1998 they took a gun and just shot all of us.

ID&T can have some great releases, but dont you ever call them "underground"

Thank God the vibe is still alive: Multigroove! http://www.multigroove.nl

Thousands of gabbers still wear a 'wizard' tattoo on their backs...

A small reminder of the days when money wasnt important.

Yep... It wasnt that bad if ID&T didnt own 90% of the market.

A good thing is the fact that ID&T parties attract more and more 'kids', the real partypeople will have their fun at smaller independant parties

..

Yep, and Rank 1 made a track and dedicated it to Miles. Track name was Rank 1 - Many miles too soon (promo) and the released track name was Rank 1 - Such is life. CORRECT if I am wrong about this.

What did they do to kill it?

Posted by jp on May-21-2002 23:48:

First half of the 90's Hardcore/Gabber was an underground movement in the Netherlands. Around '95 the Happy Hardcore craze started to happen. At parties you'd find a mixed bag of older and newer (mostly happy stuff) artists and tracks. A few years down the line the Happy Hardcore sound was being exploited too much, a lot of really bad and cheap cds and tracks were released and harcore died a fast death around '98-'99.
