PS2 vs Xbox vs Gamecube

Ok, this is not an attempt to create a massive flame war over the best system, but I plan on buying one of these three in the near future, what with the price drops and all.

I can't decide so I figured I would ask for some input.

The Xbox looks good, but the lack of games and the fact that it bombed other places turns me off.

The Gamecube looks a little look "nintendo" (read: chessy chracters and kids games)

The PS2 looks a tad dated but has tons of games.

Help!

Ummm, I dunno about you, but Resident Evil, Metroid Prime, Eternal Darkness, 007 Nightfire, Die Hard Vendetta and Too Human don't seem like kiddy games to me. There's more to the Cube than Mario and friends.

Mario and Zelda are the games I'm most looking forward to, on any format. Ever.

Zelda looks beautiful, and Mario, well, the cute graphics add to the game. Who cares about them?

I disagree about Zelda looking beautiful...Has anyone seen yet? I do not like the way the graphics in that game look at all, looks like...I dunno, kiddy, cartoony I dunno how to describe it hehe. A lot of gamers opinions think the same way too (egm, gamepro etc) And when I found out the new Metroid game was a first person shooter!?!? what the hell, that's so wack. I was pissed. But, I am dying to play that new Resident Evil game!!! Hehe, you Gamecubers got lucky on that one

i dont know about you guys but the PS2 did not impress in games on E3..i mean not graphic wise...but in terms of games i want...
Xbox has CTaxi3,Panzer Dragoon Orta,Brute Force. (OMG!!)
And GameCube kick all other consoles' ass..

i think Nintendo has the most experience of the lot and nintendo never has failed me before..
and the Cube line-up is imo far better then Xbox an PS2.. nintendo also has more games that are made exclusivly for the Cube!!
btw metriod doesn;t dissapoint.. it still has the metroid feel to it! it isn't a real 1st person shooter.. it's mmmm... metroid

nope.. but the mag. i read has played it countless times.. and they also say: it still has the metroid feel to it.. although it's 1st person! and they guy who reviewed it knows what he's talking about!

well most of those titles u just named sound like kiddy games 2 me.
Resident Evil is just as kiddish as the rest. If you looking for a real survival horror. Play Silent Hill 1 or 2...it makes RE look like a joke.

guys.. it's not about kiddy or not-kiddy. IT'S ABOUT QUALITY!!!
i'd take a zelda/mario game over quake III anyday!! simply because IMO mario has more gameplay and zelda way more magic/feel to it..!

btw. that's also why they changed the zelda look (in the first part), to make things possible that weren't possible with the more realistec engine.. and i don't blame them! zelda on the nintendo 8-bit and super nintendo are still my fav. games all time!
