clubby trance deejays who play...

funk agenda - what the fuck

are loltastic

well, anyone who plays it really, but the fact that deejays like armin van buuren and paul van dyk play it particularly cracks me up.

these guys have to be taking the piss by now, making some kind of ironic statement or something

Most garbage track of all time?

Find out at 11.

Epic minimal. Instead of a big burst of super sawwaves at the peak of a build, you get a face-full of hissing steam for the climax.

Maybe Armin forgot he can do so much better then that shit:

It's catchy, but not very good. I heard Armin play it when he came here and it seemed a little out of place.

Posted by Clovis on Jul-07-2008 18:38:

This track is such a fucking gimmick. Ironically the name suits it perfectly.

Like, seriously, if you're a big name DJ and this is the best dance music you can find...well shit what is there to say really?

Posted by Palladium on Jul-07-2008 18:43:

i played it out once

although not pitched up and mixed with trance

I've played it out too, but only cause of the cheese factor,m and I know it would get response, which it did.

Posted by nefardec on Jul-07-2008 20:23:

this is the musical equivalent of clear plastic stripper shoes

i heard francois k play this once when it first came out and i think when it came on most of the people there let out an audible 'what the fuck', and they weren't talking along with the track lol

+1

Sadly seen PvD play it afterhours and Armin this past weekend in the middle of the set.

The crowd ate it up.

Posted by iammesol on Jul-07-2008 21:46:

Always confuses me when I see it.

Posted by enydo on Jul-07-2008 22:42:

lol WHAT?

Posted by sandstorm03 on Jul-07-2008 22:49:

i did not care for it at first, but I think Paul does some neat edits with it.

Posted by aNYthing on Jul-08-2008 00:59:

I don't understand this ELITIST BULLSHIT! If the track works, if the crowd reacts, WHAT THE FUCK? Play that shit. I don't give a fuck if Armin played "Cotton eye joe", as long as it worked in a set.

...Who writes the fucking rules?
and out of curiosity to the threadstarter: When was the last time you had THOUSANDS of clubbers jumping to the tunes you spin?

Posted by enydo on Jul-08-2008 01:12:

Most of the people that go to those types of shows would "react" to the DJ wailing on a tin garbage can with a bat.

I also don't think people here really care that they are playing that track in particular, most people don't really care what those guys play anymore anyways. It's just being pointed out that this track is pretty poor and it's very comical that all these big jocks keep dropping it. They can go right ahead and play it though, and the crowds can continue to gobble it right up, I doubt anyone here will lose any sleep over that.

and so the point of the original discussion is...........?

does every shitty track deserve it's own thread? If so, I think I can use a few to bump my post count.

Isn't it how "minimal" started?

maybe ppl actually like the song. and the fact that a trance dj throws out one popular house tune to get a positive reaction out of the crowds means nothing negative...so what, big deal?

Posted by enydo on Jul-08-2008 01:30:

There isn't any big deal, it's just comical.

A classic variation of the "I'd like to see you do better" post. How quaintly pathetic.

Dance music is VERY SERIOUS BUSINESS.

Don't fuck around.

Serious.

Posted by LoveHate on Jul-08-2008 01:57:

its trance's answer to minimal.
