So what's the thing you guys hate most about "The Truth" campaign?
I think for me it's the smug sense of self satisfaction they convey in their commercials.
If these people demonstrated the way the "pro-birther" alliance do (with the pictures of dead babies and all), I'd probably harass them just as much when I saw them on campus.

I feel they bring attention to a matter which people allready know enough about.... Kinda useless if you ask me.
Ugh, these people try too hard to end a habit that provides revenue that fuels the economy's of several US states, and practically the entire country as a whole. If we told everybody all of the bad side-effects of just about everything, nothing would be bought nor sold and another Depression would occur.
Or I'm just tired of seeing ridiculously dramatic commercials concerning something that isn't much worse than a hell of a lot of other shit out there that sees very little to no exposure.
Don't get me wrong...smoking is bad, but we knew that already.

Meh, it's just corny if anything. Nothing really memorable as the NY anti smoking commercials on recently.
Another talking-out-of-the-ass experience here, but, I have no idea how the Truth campaign works, but doesn't it seem like they are just using the negative image of cigarettes to make money? Essentially created a dual-industry in cigarettes...advertising to sell the smokes to make money, and advertising to not buy smokes to make money.
That question was probably too obvious to even ask, but I have no idea how this works and how it's gotten so big. It's annoying, it undermines people, and worst of all, tries to be absolute by solely relying on twisted statistics that could be all bullshit from what we know.
at least the truth isn't blatantly fear mongering as the NYC department of health
essentially you have companies whose sole means of profit is the demise of peoples health at the cost of an unnecessary habit.
I'm an ex-smoker, but I can't say I miss it... or smoking in bars, for that matter. But at the time, I was up in arms.
I suppose I wouldn't mind as long as my tax dollars didn't contribute to healthcare costs for someone to get a new lung after 30 years of smoking filterless camels.
