What 2 and what not 2 bring? (Germany and Israel)
I'm going outside of my country for the first time (besides Canadastan and Dominican Republic).
Anything I should know to bring and NOT to bring to Germany and Israel? I know to bring adaptors so when I plug in my camera to charge it doesn't explode. I know also not to bring my American attitude so I don't prance around saying "IMAMERICANDOYOUSPEAKENGLISHTOOILOVEBUSH!" I also know not to bring anything from the Third Reich from Germany to Israel. I'm not bringing my laptop. Is there Chipotle in Munich? Are hookers cheap???

What other cities in Germany are you visiting? Cause Munich is an old people's city, fairly boring if you ask me. Now Berlin is a whole different dimension! Hamburg is amazing as well.
As for Israel, avoid the French who will be invading the Holy Land like every summer. They are gross, primitive, loud, violent and snobbish. Double-check where you eat your Falafel/Shuarma. Don't get ripped off Taxi driving/ at the markets etc. Negotiate! Always bring your ID/Passport to the clubs and DO highlight the fact you're a tourist, otherwise you'll stand in line with the rest of begging Israelis who're depending on the mercy of a hot top-model selector girl who gets paid for looking bored and ignoring everybody. Visit Jerusalem for calm/culture/spirit and Tel Aviv for food/shopping/nightlife/girls. Drive to the Negev/Eilat and up the North to the Golan/Sea of Galilee.

| Originally posted by Jake Benson Thanks for the good advice. I don't think I'll be able to go anywhere outside of Munich though (I know I should I'll be there for 10 days). My brother is working there. So for the first few days I have to wander around (and adjust from jetlag) while he works, then on the weekend we can play. But he tells me trains are expensive and I shouldn't go to Berlin unless I spend a whole week there. I'm well aware that French people are annoying. They're not as loud, but they want everyone to know they are French and therefore better every chance they get here in the US. I'll be in Tel Aviv....may visit Jerusalem. |
Don't buy anything in Munich. Especially not clothes, stupid souvenirs, or any useless gadgets. It's expensive as fuck.
Try not to look like a tourist, so keep the American flags and I LOVE NY shirts out. Same goes for anything overly "German" like Lederhosen or a ridiculous hat.
Bring clothes for cold weather, it's cold and rainy right now. Depending on where you stay and what you're used to, ear plugs could be useful. Don't let anyone over 30 know you're gay, Bavaria is veeeery Catholic.
So Jake, whats India like if you've been there?
just bring your appetite
also, when you're in germany, ask someone where you can buy some billy boys.
