I just acquired a mac and logic and was wondering if you can use your own samples in ultrabeat? I can't seem to be able to do it. Am I going to have to go back to battery?

Also does anyone know of any other decent drum plugins? Wouldn't mind knowing what the likes of Van Doorn uses to create his rhythm sections.

yes you can, select Drum Kits > Drag & Drop Samples

any clue as to why i get distortion and peaks when i drag and drop a sample into it? the sample is peaking hardcore when i play it back or play the key on my midi controller.

There is Patch called Drag & Drop. It contains a nice empty screen. If you area here clips and other noises Some of the EQ or other settings might be on. THere are buttons to turn that off.
