Cigars and Habano Appreciation Thread

I was trying to find a thread about this but I couldn't. Therefore, I apologize if it has been done before.

What are your favorite Habanos/Cuban Cigars?

Today I bought these two:

Montecristo (left) and Romeo y Julieta (right)

Cuban cigar rollers or "torcedores" are claimed to be the most skilled in the world. Torcedores are highly respected in Cuban society and culture and travel worldwide displaying their art of hand rolling cigars.

Habanos SA and Cubatabaco between them do all the work relating to Cuban cigars, including manufacture, quality control, promotion and distribution, and export. Cuba produces both handmade and machine made cigars. All boxes and labels are marked Hecho en Cuba (made in Cuba). Machine-bunched cigars finished by hand add Hecho a mano, while fully hand-made cigars say Totalmente a mano in script text. Some cigars show a TC or Tripa Corta, meaning that short filler and cuttings were used in the hand-rolling process.

it was a father/daughter bonding thing. he always made me do "guy" things. i used to smoke cigs so i kept accidentally inhaling it. then i turned green and puked and he laughed at me.

nah that's not why i laughed

i was laughing because i could picture you inhaling and coughing, when you're not supposed to inhale in the first place haha. but, i have to admit it did take a couple of go's until i got the hang of it.

Fuck dip too. When I was 14 my older cousin offered it to me and I thought I could kick it with the older kids. I was doing alright for a little bit then I took a deep breath and little bit shot to the back of my throat and I totally gagged. It was this cherry skoal crap. Couldnt get the taste out of my mouth for a day. Never again.

HAHA!!! Dude that exact same thing happened to me in high school. Cherry Skoal, first time dipping, it was too fine and I ended up swallowing some and puking my brains out in a dumpster behind a restaurant. If I even smell that shit now, my stomach turns.

and as much of a 'pussy' alternative as they are, the pouches are an awesome invention, just for convenience. haven't used that stuff in 3-4 years, though. just as well. I like having a jaw.

I just got back from 9 days in Cuba last Sunday. We spoke to some locals, one who has friends who work in a cigar factory, and they both agreed that Cohiba is the best. No surprise that they're also the most expensive.

Oh and be careful where you buy your cigars (shop vs street) as there are fakes. I bought three montecristos, each with its own cover, at Habana airport.

cohiba is next on the list i'm also getting my hands on a couple of nicaraguan cigars (never had any).

i had a boyfriend from minnesota and they just do that shit up there. he still does it. especially after eating spicy food lol it's all about the "burn". anyway....i just put a tiny little piece in and u have to spit. as soon as u feel light headed, u gotta take it out or u'll get sick.

it's a nice little buzz, but yea...i only did it a few times. it's not a habit i ever seriously picked up.
