Firefox 3 problems?

I installed firefox 3 and now every time i go to facebook or click on a link usually it crashes the program. Anybody having this problem? Is it a firefox 3 program or should i just reset-install?

FF3 has been stable and much faster for me than the previous version. It's much quicker, and thus far has been a real pleasure to use. I hate that it's giving you problems.

facebook's the only site i've had problems with so far. i'll click on a link sometimes and it won't go anywhere. not a big deal, just open a new tab with facebook and go from there.

I switched back to FF2. I found that FF3 didn't work with most of the extensions that i used. Personally since i put 4GB of memory in my comp i have not had any issues with Ver 2.

I had problems with it on my laptop, whenever I right-clicked to get a menu or used the menus on the top I didn't get any options to choose from, just a grey block. I had to revert back to V2. It works fine on my desktop though.

The laptop is running Vista though which might explain some of it...

When in full-screen mode, the tab bar auto hides!!! HATES IT! So annoying.

For that reason alone Im prolly switching back to v2.

How hard/easy is it to switch back to 2 from 3?

Am i gonna lose all my f'n bookmarks at shit? be nice nice if there was stream-lined process (like upgrading, but backwards) that didnt involve uninstall - reinstall...

No, none of the bookmarks or extensions will get deleted when you uninstall.

no issues here.

Didn't you hear about that new Firefox 3 feature? It has anti-Mexican filters.

What a shitty reason to switch back.

What extensions could you possibly be using that haven't been updated? All mine are completely compatible. If not, use the developer extension for FF3 and force your extensions to be compatible.

i used 3 and started having probs on my old computer, but that was largely due to its own shittiness.

i went back because i had gotten so used to not having to see ads i couldnt stand that ad blocker wasnt compatible with 3...perhaps it is now, but 2 works fine and 3 is still a beta|

some of the most commons ones that did not work at the time (the day of release) are the "unofficial myspace toolbar", greasemonkey, all-in-one-gestures, adblock plus's element hiding helper, and fasterfox just to name a few.

Overall i see no good reason to switch yet other then "its new" For me the Cons outweigh the Pros. With all the extenstions i am running i have to say FF2 is perfect.

Installed FF3 yesterday, works like a charm, no problems as of yet.

It's fast as hell, too.

I had issues with it on my pc. Enough so much so that I had to switch back to version two on there. On my mac it works extremely well; no problems thus far.

i was having problems with myspace and a few forums with 3 and the last version of 2 I had, all seems to be sorted now though

Where is the "open new tab' button in the tab window? The tabbed browsing addon isn't featured in version 3 ?

For all of you having problems, try deleting your profile settings for firefox and then restart it. This is usually the problem.

Or just disable extension compatibility checking. It is quite easy with no need for addons to be installed.

FF3 has been official and released for some weeks now. Probably close to 2 months I think.

You should check all your plugins again. Adblock is fully supported and migrated, so is greasemonkey, and fasterfox. Not sure about the gestures and gayspace toolbar though.

What sort of issues?

Tabbed browsing is not an "addon" in firefox. It is a standard feature. Maybe you are referring to the tab bar not always showing? That is an option.

No, there is an add-on for additional tab preferences, one of which was a button at the far left of the tab bar to 'open a new tab'.

Randomly crashing, sites not loading, and some other things. It's been a little over a month since I had it and got rid of it so I don't remember specifics, I just remember it being a real hassle to try and use it on my pc and then switched back to 2.

ctrl+t is easy and fast. Also if you are on a pc, your mouse has a scroll wheel probably. Click it on links and they open in new tabs. What's the need for a button to clutter it up?

Delete your user profile in firefox and then reinstall 3. See if that fixes it. Are you sure it wasn't a bad plugin?
