Comin to Chicago for first time!
i saw the visitors thread but i just had a couple questions for a chicago n00b!
i'm comin up with one of my friends in the beginning of august sometime.... lookin to catch a cubs game, go to some good clubs & bars, and do some sightseeing
where should i stay?
good places to go?
things to do?
thanks guys!
It would be easier to suggest things if we knew when you were arriving.
Also, get on trying to track down Cubs tickets now if you don't want to spend a fortune.

Also, if this is your first trip to Chicago (and at the risk of sounding like a tourist), it's really worth your while to just head down towards the lakefront (millenium park, etc.) and wander downtown.
I absolutely love downtown Chicago. It's the friendliest and most interesting huge city I've been in other than Amsterdam.

Mogwai and fuck buttons on the same night? wow, I've been a Mogwai fan for ages. Will not miss this.
Techno dates look mint.
I will be in Chicago the Civic holiday weekend. I wanted to check out Crobar, but doesn't look like there is much going on. I think I will end up going to see Moby. Any suggestions for a techno lover?

Crobar definitely at the bottom of the list IMO. Check out the others Glass mentioned.

Except for SoundBar. Dress relatively nicely (i.e. no tennis shoes) if you plan on going there.
