i've been really obsessed with ancient civilizations lately and it's caused me to collect an awful amount of music with a tribal/ancient theme. dubstep has had a major fucking impact, especially with the feel i'm trying to achieve. so the result of a bunch of coke+rum, rainy and thundering night = this mix, i hope some of you may like it. there is only one or two of the more techy dubstep tracks on here but besides those, it's loaded with rather soulful and deep tracks that i think would cater to even those who aren't much fans of dubstep at all. the end track leaves way for an exciting 4/4 change up which i plan on continuing with as a part two in the months to come.

Absolutely ace. I'm not really a fan of most of the Dubstep that friends have given to me or that I've heard played out, but this was definitely right up my alley.

listened to this about 3-4 times already

last night i listened in the dark on 2g of magic mushrooms and it was really really powerful. the visions were incredible if not terrifying

After clearing my "must review" pile and finishing off a mix, I've finally got around to listening to all the TA mixes I've downloaded in the last month.

First up is this one, and like just about everyone else, I really enjoyed it. It's funny that you recorded it on a stormy night because the first time I played it was on a stormy night. I don't know if it's just me, but it seems to have that charged, pressured feel of a thunderstorm about to break. Very moody and brooding. I especially enjoyed the first thirty minutes which really nailed the "ancient cultures" theme. After that I think the link became a bit tenuous. It was still wall-to-wall excellent dubstep, but the later stages didn't feel very "ancient culture" except in certain spots. That would be my only criticism, although it didn't really detract from the quality of the music.

I ended up listening to this on a hot sunny day. Dif'rent perspective, then?

The first half is quite engaging, of that there is no doubt. The second half, not quite as much. The quality of the music wasn't the problem for me, just the general tone. It got a bit too... jazzy, at least until some dubstep made its presence felt.
