Re: Re: macbook...
No one's forcing you to use vista.
You can buy a regular laptop for as cheap as $400 now... macbooks will cost you anywhere between $1200 to $1600, at least, for something comparable.
You can make your OS *look* like OS X... check out these progs:
Rocketdock
Stardock (company) Windowblinds & Objectdock (products)
If you refrain from dling your porn from limewire (if that's even still up) you can have vista running somewhat decent.

Edit: Best Buy sells Ubuntu for $20... which also you can fine-tune to resemble OS X.

its not about the look of the os. its how the OS runs. with the macbook, it feels like im mostly paying for leopard.
Once I had to start using Macs at work, I realized how much better they are than PCs. Go with the Mac.

It depends on what you want to do.

Indeed.
I was referring to their recent tv ads that cause brief, yet dangerous, seizures
It's caused by over exposure to Cold Play.
I own a phone though, I keep it simple... Haven't added any app since I got it because I am an underdeveloped antilope in search of his spiritual bayou escapade.
Anyone that says a PC is just as reliable as a Mac is kidding themselves.
macs arent really *that* great. Most of the reason they are reliable isnt because their OS is so stable, its bc it being a minority in the desktop environment means its a minority in the virus/etc-coder scope. And that is slowly changing.
I'm still hard-pressed to believe macs are worth 2-3x the price. that just seems wasteful to own a designer computer.

If the pc happens to be running slackware instead of Vista then yeah, it's probably leaps and bounds more reliable than OSX.
I would wait for a while, rumours say there will be a new macbook and macbook pro revealed in the beginning of August.
People who go on with "if you want to do anything serious get a mac" are just stupid.
The simple fact that Iv almost always had my windows computers running fine unless iv done something to warrant a screw up ruins your theory of "mac is better". And yes, iv used macs, in fact I worked as tech support at a uni campus and the macs where a pain in the ass.
Get whatever system you enjoy using more. There is no "BETTER" system (that is unless you are a pretentious wanker
).
If you want to look retarded cool buy a Mac.
If you need a computer to do stuff buy a regular PC.

The laptop with Vista uninstalled is the better value for money item out of those machines.
If you want to look cool and impress all the other fan-gimps while drinking your latte at Starbucks though then go with the MAC.

Until I got my MacBook Pro about a week ago, the MacBook was the best (and most reliable) computer I'd ever used. That PC that you posted looks fantastic with its specs, but the unreliability and Vista warrant the MacBook purchase imo. edit: unless you're a hardc0re gamer. If you play lots of computer games go with the PC. |
