What is the ibject of Cooking fried chicken?

Ok do you set the temppurature very high or very low. I have tried both ways and ruin it everytime.

take a chicken breast

butterfly it (cut it in half) with a sharp knife

season it.

put on a medium heat grill for about 8-10 minutes turning every couple of minutes. try not to have 1 end thin & the other thick cos it'll cook uneven and when it's cooked it'll be white. If you cut into it and it's pink, your shits gonna stink.

as for 'fried' chicken, if you mean the kfc way, you need the colonels special sauce. PM Jennypie for her own recipe. it has slightly less teenage semen in it

I can get the temp right. it will be burned on the outside and raw on the inside.

well, take the chicken piece, cover it in clingfilm & bash it a bit with a meat hammer or rolling pin then. the key is to have it the same thickness throughout. that ensures an even cook. Of course u can just put a whole breast in the oven for 40minutes at 180c and it'll cook too. grilling is just quicker

Basically cook before you fry.

How To Make Southern Fried Chicken

Ok if you have a stove and the thermostat reads from 1 - 6 + hi then what setting do you set it at to cook fried chicken perfectly. I have watched the movies but I cannot get it right.

alts don't get to eat chicken.

Posted by Dervish on Jul-20-2008 21:51:

You cook it first then set it to high. Cos then you just have to crisp the coating.

Is the easy way to do it. If you can get the temp right you can cook it in one stage, just frying though. But is a lot harder, and oiler.

my grandma does it perfectly she cooks it fluffy and everything is done in one attempt and she sits there and cookes it for five minutes and she is done.

Well I cooked a couple of pieces and they are still uncooked on the inside. They are not raw, but when you eat them its like eating fish or something so I am just gonna put them in the oven and then eat 30 minutes from now.

whats all this Alt business?

Chicken legs fried in 5 mins cooked... unlikely. She must have pre-cooked them.

I'm marinating chicken in a citrus bath with fresh mint.
Looking for a macaroni salad.
Never attempted before.

KFC reheated in the microwave ?

Posted by Dervish on Jul-20-2008 22:53:

Ah no never dis a mans gran! lol But still is quick!

As for salad, mayo + bacon with something acidic (maybe a hint of vinergar) and garlic would be good, or even a touch of honey and mustard.

i just tossed the first batch.
i improvised onion and green salsa.
the pasta was mad gummy.

Posted by Dervish on Jul-20-2008 23:34:

Yeah it's the bone it tends to make it take ages to cook. I'd say poach then in stock just cos it'll be easier. Have bbq'ed them ok but needs a low heat. And if you fry at low heat tend to get a soggy skin.
